We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Channel Sales Engineering Manager & Alliance Lead located in the UK. The individual is responsible for managing a team of Channel Sales Engineers & taking the lead on our Alliance relationships ensuring technical sales success of our sell through and sell with initiatives with strategic alliance partners
As a champion of Commvault’s values, the ideal candidate will not only embrace change but be a passionate catalyst in the identification and implementation of new strategies to bring Commvault to market through the sales engineering team. This role works closely with the Regional Channel directors, Global & Regional Alliance leads to ensure the pre-sales organization is effectively able to partner with channel & sales in activating the partner community, driving pipeline, winning opportunities, and will personally participate in sales campaigns and partner engagement.
What You'll Do:
- Provide technical leadership to the EMEA Channel Sales Engineering team, driving a sense of urgency and a measurable standard of excellence, identifying avenues to improve opportunity development and results, presenting them to senior leadership for incorporation into the Commvault standard
- Experience with transformational change for organizational management. To include adapting to industry trends with forward looking technology solutions for various markets and verticals.
- Managing the Technical execution plan between Commvault and alliance partners (EMEA) across the OEM, channel and direct routes to market. This leader will drive both the strategic cross company initiatives and tactical execution components of the plan
- Identifying mutual key strategic “plays”; Secures executive sponsorship and establishes the key success criteria which will be used to focus the two organizations on agreed upon play.
- Hire and mentor Channel Sales Engineers focusing on team building, channel empowerment, discovery techniques, technical development, business case creation, solution architecting, competitive product knowledge, and technical customer success
- Assist, as needed, with industry speaking engagements or seminars and actively engages in social media supporting Commvault messaging
- Oversee the creation and presentation of the business value surrounded by merits to C-level executives
- Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and competing/complimentary products
- Develop strong customer and partner relationships, ensuring that technical account management best practices are being followed by the Sales Engineering team
- Work with internal departments (channel, sales, support, marketing, development) to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the customer experience is extremely positive
Who You Are:
- Demonstrable experience in the software or storage industry, managing pre-sales Sales Engineers
- Strong working knowledge and demonstrated capabilities working across the alliances lifecycle including product management, product marketing, sales, services to drive OEM and partner bundles solution plays
- Experience working with the partner community within the prescribed territory
- Demonstrated capability to build multi-dimensional strategies to attach vendor solutions to partner value propositions and maximize sell-thru revenues
- Strong IT background with good understanding of virtualization, data center, cloud, storage, enterprise software and their “architectural” relationships to one another and to building solutions that address customer’s needs.
- Working knowledge of distribution models, Channel programs and the “value exchange” elements of partner relationships
- Excellent written, verbal, social media, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to lead a team to solve complex business / technical issues
- Prior experience selling and architecting Enterprise, Infrastructure, SaaS, and Data Management solutions
- Specialized knowledge/skills and demonstrated proficiency with Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure, Google, etc..), major operating system (Linux) and enterprise application exposure or knowledge of (Oracle, Exchange, SQL Server etc.)
- Flexible to travel 30% + of the time
