The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to oversee our Inside Sales Engineering team. This role will be pivotal in driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and collaborative growth across the global Sales Engineering organization. The successful candidate will lead transformation initiatives, strengthen customer and partner relationships, and ensure seamless alignment between technical and sales objectives to accelerate business success.
What You’ll Be Doing..,
- Lead and develop the remote Sales Engineering team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving a measurable standard of excellence.
- Provide technical leadership while fostering collaboration, accountability, and innovation across the team.
- Identify and implement strategies to improve opportunity development, sales effectiveness, and overall business outcomes.
- Drive transformational change by aligning the team’s capabilities with evolving industry trends and emerging technologies across markets and verticals.
- Shape organizational growth through effective territory design, workforce composition, and the advancement of new technical competencies.
- Oversee account planning, pipeline creation, and opportunity management; collaborate with district sales engineering leaders and partners to define sales strategies, enhance competitive positioning, and allocate technical resources effectively.
- Mentor the team in discovery methodologies to identify key technical, financial, and business challenges that can be addressed through Commvault solutions.
- Translate complex discovery insights into concise, outcome-focused messaging that highlights the business and operational value of Commvault’s offerings.
- Present and demonstrate Commvault’s suite of products through video conferencing, whiteboarding, and technical presentations.
- Recruit, coach, and develop Inside/Remote Sales Engineers—focusing on skill enhancement, solution architecture, technical excellence, and customer success.
- Represent Commvault at industry events, webinars, and social media platforms to enhance brand visibility and thought leadership.
- Support the creation and delivery of executive-level business value presentations and proposals.
- Stay informed on emerging industry trends, technologies, and competitive products to continuously refine team strategy and customer engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, ensuring adherence to technical account management best practices.
- Oversee customer software pilots or proof-of-concepts to validate technical and business value.
- Partner cross-functionally with internal teams—including Sales, Support, Marketing, and Product Development—to ensure successful execution of sales campaigns and an exceptional customer experience.
Who You Are?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (Master’s degree or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in the software or storage industry, with at least 5 years leading pre-sales or Sales Engineering teams.
- Proven experience collaborating with channel and partner communities within assigned territories.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams to solve complex business and technical challenges.
- Experience architecting and selling Enterprise, Infrastructure, SaaS, or Data Management solutions.
- Proficiency with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), operating systems (Linux), and enterprise applications (Oracle, Exchange, SQL Server, etc.).
