Technical Specialist - SaaS Associate
The Opportunity:
The Customer Support Associate works within a team of tech support professionals sought at delivering technical solutions for Commvault’s customer base.
This customer base has a wide variety of technical ability, and this role has no ceiling, you will be responsible for an issue from initial pick-up all the way to working with the development team on identifying a possible solution.
Our Metallic team will work around issues related to Metallic SaaS Platform. You will deal with SaaS workload, Virtualization, database, operating system, debugging, and performance-based issues. You will serve as a source of knowledge for not only our customers but also for our partners and other internal team members.
What you’ll do…
- Good understanding of products and services provided: (SAAS to meet client’s needs). Demonstrates introductory understanding and ability and, with mentorship, applies the proficiency in a few, simple situations. Can advise people to the appropriate source for further information.
- Demonstrates basic awareness of SaaS products/services and how we differentiate ourselves from our competitors. Uses knowledge of products/services to meet client needs. Bonus of Commvault or Metallic product knowledge
- Virtualization: Validated working experience of VMware, Hyper-V, Amazon, and Azure. Basic knowledge of different Virtualization system. Be able to explain technological and commercial differences and benefits.
- Databases: Speaking knowledge of Database techniques.
- Operating Systems: Good experience of MS Windows. Bonus of Linux knowledge
- SaaS Workloads: Prior experience of Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to use a wide range of virtual channels appropriately to connect with customers (e.g., video conference, virtual whiteboards Webex, Sandbox
Who you are?
- 3+ years of technical support experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/related field or corresponding experience equalling 4-year degree preferred.
- Advanced administration and troubleshooting skills in Windows server environments.
- Validated experience with system network troubleshooting (i.e.TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, etc.).
- Dynamic and structured approach to troubleshooting, customer engagements and general efficiency.
- Ability to pass on technical knowledge by crafting structured learning material and explaining concepts through informal formats such as whiteboard sessions.
- Knowledge or experience with Cloud Storage
- Previous experience with backup software such as VEEAM, Cohesity or other SaaS backup products.
- Prior Security and Saas experience strongly preferred.
