Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for an Operations Support Specialist 1 position at the Client in Los Alamos, NM (TA-55 / PF4).
Pay: $31/hr - $37/hr
Location: Los Alamos, NM – TA-55 / PF4
Citizenship: US Citizenship Required
Work Schedule: 4/12s (aligned with subcontractor schedule; may adjust as needed)
On-Call/OT: Yes
Assignment Duration: Up to 5 years (with potential for extension/conversion)
Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance (Q not required to start)
Relocation/Per Diem: Yes

Candidates must have experience managing construction activities in a DOE or NRC nuclear/radiological facility.
Applicants without demonstrated construction management experience in a regulated nuclear or radiological environment will not be considered.
Impact
The Operations Support Specialist 1 plays a key role in supporting mission-critical construction activities within a Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 2 radiological facility at LANL’s TA-55 PF4. This position ensures construction and operational deliverables are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Laboratory policies and regulatory requirements.
You will support the organization and coordination of construction and field controls activities, helping ensure quality, safety, and timely completion of project objectives that directly support the DOE mission.
Responsibilities and Duties

Support oversight of mission deliverables for construction activities and operations, ensuring quality, accuracy, efficiency, and successful completion.

Ensure work is performed safely and delivered on schedule in a Hazard Category 2, Security Classification 2 radiological facility.

Maintain compliance with Laboratory policies and regulatory requirements.

Assist in organizing operations in construction and field controls.

Support timely completion of discrete technical activities or operational projects.

Coordinate with multiple groups within construction projects to ensure proper staffing and execution.

Provide group support services to construction projects.

Promote consistent application of construction engineering standards and practices across projects.

Ensure documentation is adequate and develop documentation when gaps are identified.

Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.

Provide oversight of workers and subcontractors as assigned.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders and customers.

Support quality control and assurance efforts, including work aligned with NQA-1 where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications

Experience managing construction activities in a DOE or NRC nuclear/radiological facility (required).

5 or more years of experience in construction, maintenance, or fabrication.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.

Willingness to work on-site at LANL TA-55 PF4 in a secure environment.

Ability to work a 4/12 schedule and support on-call/OT requirements.

Valid driver’s license (driving required).

US Citizenship required.
Desired Skills
-
Construction management experience in DOE nuclear or radiological facilities.

Experience serving as a Construction Field Work Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor, or Responsible (Line) Manager in a work control setting.

Professional and safety certifications relevant to construction within the DOE and nuclear complex.

Experience working within work control processes aligned to quality control and assurance.

Prior experience supporting the DOE mission.
Education and Experience Requirements

Associate’s Degree in a relevant field and 2 years of relevant experience; OR
-
A combination of education and relevant experience equivalent to 5+ years in construction, maintenance, or fabrication.
