Compa Industries is searching for a qualified Technical Project Manager (TPM) 2 candidate to support our client at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), TA-55.
Salary: $67 - $75/hr
Location: Los Alamos, NM (On-site)
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required
Work Schedule: 4/10s (aligned with field install schedule)
Clearance: Q Clearance (ability to obtain required; not required to start)

Candidates must hold EVMS (Humphreys & Associates or equivalent) and Control Account Manager certification (or equivalent).

Impact
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) 2 plays a critical role in delivering mission-essential projects within a DOE Hazard Category 2 and Security Classification 1 nuclear facility. This position ensures the successful execution of complex technical and operational projects that directly support national security objectives.
By managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk, the TPM 2 drives performance improvements, ensures regulatory compliance, and enables safe, efficient execution of work in a highly controlled environment.
Responsibilities and Duties

Manage and ensure timely completion of technical and operational projects from initiation through closeout

Define and oversee project deliverables, budgets, schedules, and risk management strategies

Lead project planning, tracking, and execution in alignment with DOE nuclear facility requirements

Develop and manage work packages to meet programmatic objectives

Support and implement process improvements tied to project performance

Provide day-to-day operational and administrative management within assigned program areas

Contribute to development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards

Monitor program budgets and recommend service level enhancements

Coordinate across engineering, quality assurance, procurement, and project teams

Provide technical guidance to staff and stakeholders

Ensure compliance with NQA-1 quality standards and nuclear safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications
-
Experience supporting projects in DOE or NRC Hazard Category 2 facilities
-
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
-
Control Account Manager (CAM) certification or equivalent
-
Ability to obtain and maintain Q Clearance
-
Experience managing project scope, schedule, budget, and risk

Experience supporting engineering, construction, or process improvement initiatives tied to project performance
-
Ability to work on-site in a secure nuclear facility environment

Willingness to work adjusted schedules, overtime, and travel as needed
Desired Skills

Strong background in process improvement for project performance

Experience with NQA-1 quality assurance standards

Experience managing engineering, procurement, and quality functions in nuclear environments

Prior experience in DOE projects or similar federal programs

Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills
Education and Experience Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of related DOE and/or nuclear experience,
OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience -
Acceptable degrees include AA, BAS, BS, or currently pursuing with equivalent experience
