Radiological Control Technician (Commercial Decommissioning)
Radiological Control Technician (Commercial Decommissioning)
Three Mile Island, Harrisburg, PA | Contract, 3 to 6 months | $40 to $50/hr depending on experience
COMPA Industries is hiring commercial RCTs for a decommissioning project at Three Mile Island. Junior and senior techs are both welcome. The contract runs 3 to 6 months, with future projects available after it wraps up.
This project uses laser ablation for decon, and you'll be trained on the equipment on site. Few RCTs have hands-on time with laser ablation, so this is a chance to pick up a specialized skill that carries into future work. More laser ablation projects are expected to follow this one.
What you'll do
- Perform radiation and contamination surveys and document the results
- Provide RP job coverage for decommissioning and decon work, including laser ablation
- Set up and maintain radiological postings, boundaries and contamination controls
- Support work crews with pre-job briefings and RWP requirements
What you need
- Commercial nuclear RCT experience (required)
- Junior techs with commercial outage or decommissioning time are welcome
- ANSI/ANS 3.1 qualification for senior positions
Nice to have
- D&D or decommissioning experience
- Final status survey experience
