Child Group Therapist

What You'll Do:
Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups, working with ages 8-14 years old
Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update
Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls
Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
Providing individual support to patients, as needed
Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
Participating in discharge planning for patients
Other duties, as assigned
Who You Are:
Master’s in Social Work/Clinical Counseling or other relevant Master’s/Doctoral programs
Hold or be eligible for one of the following licensures: LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, MSW, AMFT, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD (preferred)
1 + year of post-Master’s clinical experience, or a relevant master’s level internship
Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Experience with patients in crisis, and a strong passion for working within high acuity environments
Group Therapist

As an Adolescent Group Therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidenced based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. This role will work with patients aged 12+ in our Mood & Anxiety Program and OCD Programs. As a Group Therapist at Compass, you’ll receive expert training that lays the foundation and cultivates expertise necessary for personal, clinical, and professional growth. Specifically, you’ll receive training and development in curriculum-based programming and evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. We also provide the opportunity for cross-training in our specialty areas, such as Trauma, Mental Health and Substance, and School Refusal.
Note: This is a 100% on-site position, Monday through Friday
What You'll Do:
Providing group therapy to patients in a safe and therapeutic milieu
Developing effective therapeutic group relationships that promote positive change in patients
Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as other evidenced-based therapies
Relaying relevant clinical information to treatment team during daily rounds and throughout the program day as needed
Learning and implementing the Compass group curriculum especially to address patient needs
Engaging in crisis management, as needed
Charting in our electronic medical records system
Participating in professional development activities
This position may also include meeting with patients individually or with family members
Other duties as needed
Who You Are:
Are passionate about facilitating group therapy and seeking an environment to work collaboratively with others
Are a Psychologist or Master’s level therapist
Have prior experience or interest in working with patients of varying diagnoses including Mood & Anxiety, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Trauma, Mental Health and Substance Use
Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills
Have prior experience working in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, inpatient hospital, or residential setting (preferred, not required)
