Where you will work:
This position offers fully remote work from anywhere in the US or a hybrid work option (up to 50% remote) from any of our office locations in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
The contributions you will make:
This position enhances the profitability of the RuraLiving mortgage program on a national basis. The incumbent identifies and develops partner relationships with banks, credit unions and non-depository mortgage lenders.
A typical day:
- Coordinates, executes and grows all aspects of the RuraLiving mortgage program to enhance the profitability of the Home Mortgage Services portfolio.
- Researches, identifies, prospects and develops relationships with prospective brokers, commercial and community bankers and authorizes contracts and agreements.
- Manages those ongoing relationships and activities.
- Aggressively markets the RuraLiving mortgage program services, establishing new market relationships which contribute toward attainment of Compeer’s goals and business objectives.
- Maintains a prospect file, creates ongoing prospecting plans and activities, and commits to individual sales goals for both loans and related services; accomplishments include sales closings, positive client/partner relations, community recognition, and generally contributing to the Compeer’s image as the leading financial institution committed to borrowers.
- Remains informed of short- and long-term market conditions, lending trends, and other developments within the mortgage lending industry.
- Actively networks with other industry professionals and is involved in professional organizations.
- Serves as a resource and primary trainer/educator for program approved banks, credit unions and bankers regarding the RuraLiving mortgage program, processes, and requirements.
The skills and experience we prefer you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, agriculture or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Expert-level experience in the financial services industry.
- Advanced knowledge of mortgage industry processes, regulations, and verbiage.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, Salesforce, SharePoint and Mortgage Lending Operating Systems (TPO Connect or Encompass).
- Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) license preferred.

The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.

$92,055 - $156,400 USD
