Where you will work: This position offers a hybrid work option up to 50% remote and is based out of the MN-Lakeville, WI-Sun Prairie, or IL-Bloomington office locations.

The contributions you will make: 

This position plays a critical role in shaping Compeer’s client understanding, competitive positioning, and strategic focus. The incumbent oversees the enterprise-wide research agenda; including both primary and secondary research, to generate actionable insights that guide strategic growth, client experience, and brand development. Manages research vendor and agency relationships and leads the planning and execution of client surveys (including the Compeer Collective), brand health tracking, and Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Overall Satisfaction (OSAT) measurement. Provide leadership in evaluating market trends, competitive activity, and market opportunities across all major business lines, including Ag Lending, Rural Home Lending, and Capital Markets. 

A typical day: 

  • Leads development and implementation of Compeer’s enterprise research agenda. 
  • Oversees primary research efforts including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and usability testing. 
  • Manages Compeer Collective, the enterprise’s client insight panel. 
  • Oversees NPS and OSAT measurement and ensures proper survey methodologies are used. 
  • Partners with Marketing, Business Units, and Client Experience teams to gather actionable feedback across the client journey. 
  • Guides segmentation, persona development, and journey mapping initiatives to support omnichannel strategy. 
  • Leads secondary research, competitive benchmarking, and trend analysis to inform enterprise and business unit strategy. 
  • Provides actionable insights related to client behavior, industry dynamics, market sizing, growth forecasting, and business model innovation. 
  • Synthesizes research findings into strategic recommendations for senior leaders. 
  • Develops frameworks for strategic foresight and scenario planning. 
  • Collaborates with Finance, Credit, and Marketing to align insights with performance, risk, and growth objectives. 
  • Assists leadership in defining the team’s strategic direction and goals. 
  • Keeps abreast of industry best practices. Identifies and executes efficient and effective practices that enhance the team’s value. 
  • Translates vision and strategies into practical, effective, and efficient operating plans in order to achieve the organizations short- and long-term sales objectives. 
  • Communicates expectations and goals to the team and is responsible for team results. 
  • Aligns business unit goals to the budget and strategic imperatives of the organization. 
  • Builds trusted relationships with executive stakeholders, functional leaders, and cross-functional teams. 
  • Prepares and presents insights to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board. 
  • Coaches team members and helps build internal capabilities for research and analytics. 
  • Advocates for a data-driven, client-centric culture throughout the organization.
  • Manages relationships with research agencies and vendors to ensure high-quality and cost-effective execution. 
  • Oversees RFPs, contracting, and performance evaluation for external partners. 
  • Ensures research methodologies and tools align with industry best practices and business needs. 

The skills and experience we prefer you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, economics or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. MBA or equivalent, strongly preferred. 
  • Expert-level of experience in market research, insights, or strategy consulting. 
  • Advanced-level of leadership and management experience preferred. 
  • Proven track record of independently leading complex enterprise initiatives and influencing VP- and C-level executives. 
  • Experience in financial services, healthcare, or a top-tier market research agency is strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated success managing both qualitative and quantitative research efforts, including survey design and analysis. 
  • Advanced experience using syndicated research sources and translating secondary data into strategic insights.
  • Advanced knowledge in market research and strategic marketing, ideally gained from a leading financial services, healthcare, or consulting firm. 
  • Strong technical proficiency in data analysis and research, along with the ability to distill insights, highlight strategic implications, and formulate actionable recommendations.
  • Advanced ability to shape high-level market strategies and collaborate with operational teams to identify key performance drivers.
  • Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methods, survey design, sampling strategy, and insight generation.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data into high-impact insights and clear implications for strategy and growth.
  • Deep understanding of the client journey and how to leverage feedback to improve experience and outcomes.
  • Skilled in market sizing, segmentation, forecasting, and competitive analysis using primary and secondary data. 
  • Ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of how client insights apply to digital and physical channels, and experience in omnichannel environments. 
  • Proven ability to lead vendor relationships and maximize ROI from agency partnerships.
  • Committed to evolving tools, processes, and metrics to increase effectiveness and relevance of insights. 

How we will take care of you:

Our job titles may span more than one career level (associate, senior, principal, etc.). The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.

Base Pay

$129,800 - $197,600 USD
