Where you will work:
This position offers a hybrid work option up to 50% remote and is open to any Compeer office location in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The contributions you will make: 

This position leads the development and continued evolution of Compeer’s Integration Platform, creating capabilities to enable and accelerate delivery of seamless, unified, and integrated client, field officer, and partner experiences. The enterprise integration platform team builds and supports low-latency, scalable, reliable, secure, and high performing enterprise API's and technology capabilities that reduce the direct reliance on back-end systems of record. Partners with leaders across Compeer to understand enterprise integration needs and collaboratively develop integration technology strategy.

A typical day: 

  • Strategic Leadership and Execution
    • Champions the brand; serves as a role-model for Compeer's vision, mission and values.
    • Enables innovative and performant integration for client, field officer, and third party partner experience product teams with back-end systems of record.
    • Develops and executes transformation and roadmap of capabilities needed to deliver seamless, unified, and integrated client, third party partner, and field officer experiences.
    • Defines and shapes the API-first engineering culture and mindset across the Development and Delivery (D&D) teams; supports a high-trust environment where best practices such as “blameless retros” are highly-effective.
    • Leads the team to develop and mature enterprise integration capabilities, including but not limited to API Management, Real-time and Batch Integration Pattern solutions, Data Caching, Low Latency, HA, System Resiliency, Microservices Architectures, Containerization, and Serverless Computing.
    • Partners with system of record leaders in developing and maintaining unified Compeer Integration Platform that enables our go-to-market strategy.
    • Champions the integration platform as a Technology Product that offers competitive advantage for the organization.
    • Partners across the BT Team including the Infrastructure & Operations, Enterprise Architecture, and Security & Risk Management to align on strategy and accelerate development and deployment of seamless, unified, and integrated experiences.
    • Drives continuous improvement across software engineering capabilities by keeping abreast of integration best practices.
  • Team Leadership
    • Creates and promotes a positive culture and work environment that leverages team member talents and abilities in achieving goals of the D&D Compeer Integration Platform team.
    • Creates and promotes a values and trust-based culture of high-performance and execution across the D&D Compeer Integration Platform team.
    • Selects, develops, motivates, and engages talent to create and maintain a high-performing team; ensures a talent-pipeline to meet the future needs of the team.
    • Effectively initiates, inspires and leads change within the team.
    • Creates/modifies team structure and identifies capabilities and roles needed to evolve the team as new system integration capabilities and business opportunities are introduced to the organization.
    • Determines performance standards and development plans and effectively communicates them to team members.
    • Manages the evaluation and compensation processes for direct and indirect reports.
    • Drives continuous process improvement and develops best practices within the team.
    • Coaches team members on more complex and challenging issues and decisions.
  • Industry Expertise
    • Networks with Compeer's Business Technology leaders and outside software engineering community to drive the Enterprise Integration maturity across organization. Recognized as the Integration technology expert.
    • Maintains relevant knowledge of current and emerging Integration technology, tools, and techniques in the software development industry.
    • Provides advice and presents actionable improvement recommendations in Compeer's Enterprise Integration capabilities.
  • Development and Delivery Process Management
    • Champions integration process best practices across the team (i.e. building, testing, supporting, and enforcing integration best practices).
    • Defines and manages the process of identifying, developing, and managing enterprise API's.
    • Defines and manages API catalog, API data attributes, anticipated data volumes, data ingestion patters, query patters, quality controls, monitoring, and performance tuning.
    • Champions the Enterprise Integration development & delivery process across D&D teams.
    • Assists with the budget planning process.
    • Participates and responds to audit and regulatory bodies.

The skills and experience we prefer you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Expert-level information technology experience, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership and management experience required.
  • Advanced expertise in working with and managing Enterprise Integration Platforms.
  • Advanced expertise in applying and driving API Management, Real-time and Batch Integration Patterns, Data Caching, Low Latency, High Availability, and System Resiliency.
  • Exceptional people leadership and talent development skills including the ability to select, evaluate, engage, motivate, mentor, train, delegate, reward and lead team members.
  • High learning agility with demonstrated ability to apply past experiences and learnings successfully in new situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage values-based leadership to shape and influence culture; able to lead in a hybrid work environment.
  • Advanced experience leading technology transformation and change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to develop high-impact technology strategy.
  • High degree of curiosity across leadership and technology disciplines.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • Advanced problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of Enterprise Integration, product development and Agile Solution Delivery principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve D&D Compeer Integration Platform goals.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and operating high-performing technology integration platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in driving the API-first mindset across software engineering teams.
  • Strong strategic thinker, able to deliver tactical deliverables.
  • Valid driver’s license.

How we will take care of you:

Our job titles may span more than one career level (associate, senior, principal, etc.). The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.

 

Base Pay

$129,800 - $197,600 USD
