Where you will work:  This position offers a hybrid work option up to 50% remote and is open to any Compeer office location in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The contributions you will make:  This position oversees all leasing credit activities for Compeer, leading an assigned team responsible for credit administration, lease analysis, approvals within delegated authorities, and the ongoing monitoring, servicing, and reporting of the organization’s leasing portfolio. The incumbent provides guidance and serves as a key resource in structuring lease packages. Contributes to the continuous improvement of processes to deliver exceptional client service and achieve robust credit administration standards, ensuring targeted credit quality and appropriate risk-adjusted returns. Manages team members, including their recruitment, development, motivation, performance evaluation, and compensation, with a direct focus on fostering high levels of team engagement. Serves as an active member of the Credit Committee.

A typical day: 

  • Conducts and supervises precise financial analysis for a diverse range of client relationships.
  • Qualifies and validates financial information utilized in the credit decision making process.
  • Completes accrual earnings reconciliation as needed.
  • Remains updated on the industries serviced by the assigned Flagship and/or business unit.
  • Monitors lease residual requests and ensures alignment with policy.
  • Completes industry specific research to validate key cash flow projections as needed.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategies and tactics for the department.
  • Establishes and executes department policies, procedures and practices.
  • Effectively initiates and leads change, at times beyond the department.
  • Is responsible for selecting, developing, motivating, engaging, educating, evaluating, and compensating team members.
  • Ensures efficient and timely handling of credit and servicing requests.
  • Facilitates seamless coordination between external clients and Compeer teams to streamline loan processing.
  • Contributes to the achievement of Compeer's goals and market share growth by supporting both the operations department and the lending team. Collaborates to design and implement new loan programs aimed at generating increased volume through the lender network.
  • Works closely with leaders across the organization to ensure the effective delivery of products and services.
  • Monitors the organizations lease performance and provides direction for lease classification.
  • Proactively monitors lease trends to ensure alignment with Compeer risk tolerance.
  • Collaborates with the sales team or directly with clients to create effective strategies for resolving lease delinquencies.\Monitors database exception reports to ensure proper financial, collateral, and lease classifications are accurate.
  • Guides and supports team members in analyzing financial trends, interpreting financial data, and accurately entering information into leasing systems.
  • Coordinates with sales and RAU teams to develop servicing plans for high risk client relationships.
  • Serves as a key resource for internal and external audit teams.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to enhance and streamline lease processes.
  • Provides expert guidance and serves as a valuable resource for both internal and external clients.
  • Develops and delivers impactful presentations to senior management and the Board of Directors as required.
  • Accompanies the sales team on site visits and lender meetings to provide support and foster strong relationships.

The skills and experience we prefer you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in agriculture credit and operations.
  • Minimum three years of leadership and management experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • Advanced knowledge of credit processing and servicing activities, accounting principles and practices, credit analysis procedures, credit administration, and portfolio management.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, team building, problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Highly developed negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external high stress situations and resolving conflicts.
  • Leadership skills to select, evaluate, engage, motivate, mentor, train, delegate, reward and lead remote team members.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer skills, including MS Office applications and client databases such as Web Equity, CRM, and loan origination systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license.

How we will take care of you:

Our job titles may span more than one career level (associate, senior, principal, etc.). The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.

Base Pay

$105,700 - $160,300 USD
