Job Description 

Job Title: Systems Administrator, Sr. 
Location: Remote  
Supporting: The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) **Secret Security Clearance** 

Overview 

CompTech is seeking a qualified Senior Systems Administrator. The Senior Systems Administrator provides critical cloud and infrastructure support to ensure the stable, secure, and reliable operation of enterprise computer systems, software platforms, and network connectivity in support of DoD mission requirements. This role is responsible for planning, engineering, installing, configuring, operating, maintaining, and optimizing system software, cloud services, and communication links. The position ensures high availability, performance, and continuity of operations across on-premises and cloud environments in accordance with applicable DoD policies, security requirements, and contractual obligations.  

 

Scope of Work 

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Organize and direct the configuration, operation, and maintenance of information management systems. 
  • Analyze and resolve end-user software, application, and connectivity issues. 
  • Conduct capacity and performance analysis and recommend system configuration changes and upgrades. 
  • Improve system administrator efficiency and accuracy using automated tools and scripts. 
  • Develop system administration procedures and deliver system administrator training and skills assessments. 
  • Provide end-user training and technical guidance. 
  • Recommend technology directions and solutions to align IT capabilities with business objectives and vision. 
  • Delivers local and remote maintenance support for operational systems across multiple locations, including system maintenance, upgrades, and new server and application installations. 
  • Lead and direct the work of system administrators, ensuring effective day-to-day system administration, resource optimization, and user support. 
  • Apply advanced technical expertise in application networking, including load balancing and fault-tolerant architectures. 
  • Perform vulnerability management to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks. 

 

 Knowledge, Skills, and Certification Requirements: 

  • Three (3) years hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT hosting solutions.  
  • Ten (10) years of specialized experience. (Specialized experience is defined as progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, where the majority are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, at least four (4) years of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software 
  • Extensive experience with commercial cloud hosting platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and associated industry technologies. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience, if permitted by contract). 
  • IA Level: DoD 8140/8570–compliant IAT Level II certification, including one or more of the following: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH. 
  • Cloud Certification – GCP: Google Associate Cloud Engineer or Google Professional Cloud Architect. 
  • Cloud/Platform Certification – AWS, Azure, OCI, or Red Hat: One or more of the following: 
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional), or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Azure Security Engineer Associate 
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations 
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) 

 

Security Clearance Requirements:  

  • Secret ** Must have ACTIVE Top Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this role** 

 

Salary: 

  • $110,000 - $120,000 + Benefits
