What You'll Do

Our engineers are the foundation of success for our customers and our business. We are seeking a Data Center Architect to join our team in Denver, CO, who will provide value for our clients in both pre-sales design and architecting highly effective business solutions using the latest Data Center and Cloud solutions. 

The Architect focuses on working with strategic customers in architecting, designing, and evaluating solutions and partners with CompuNet’s local Engineering teams, Account Executives, Engineering Directors and Managers to develop and maintain architecture frameworks that can be standardized, delivered on, and evolve CompuNet’s technology portfolios. Architects also peer with Principal Engineers to provide a feedback loop between architecture design and successful delivery of the design. Day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  • 85% of time supporting presales initiatives and 15% of time supporting/overseeing post-sales initiatives in the local market
  • Development of long-term technology vision and roadmap creating the solution sets for CompuNet’s diverse Customer base and verticals
  • Rationalization of best product offerings / architectures to meet customer needs
  • Ensuring economics match value proposition and CompuNet’s business profile
  • Significant customer collaboration on solution development
  • Evaluating the technology landscape and translate those into solutions for our clients and the CompuNet Engineering team
  • Engaging with Senior Solutions Architects to drive the technology strategy within CompuNet
  • Engaging and assisting local Solutions Engineers with key strategic accounts and drive new opportunities
  • Peer with local Solutions Engineers in efforts to shadow and mentor in the pre-sales, architecting and implementation efforts
  • Peer with local Principal Engineers in efforts to create a feedback loop between architecture design and successful delivery of the design
  • Performing necessary pre-sales technical functions to create systems designs 
  • Pairing with Engineering Directors and Managers to review projects scopes for validation 
  • Partnering with Sales and local market Solutions Engineers to assist opening net new accounts and schedule introductory meetings 
  • Interfacing with Engineering Directors and Managers to assist in identifying services opportunities and needs 
  • Assisting Engineering Directors and Managers in recruiting and hiring efforts in local market 
  • Coordinating with Engineering on lab resources and standardization efforts across regions

 Who you are

You’re a strong team player that is invested in helping your customers succeed and contributing to a great company culture.  You have the following knowledge, skills, abilities and/or education:

  • Experience with a mix of advanced on-prem, hybrid and cloud technologies, IT operations and strategic business acumen.
  • Broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to architect solutions by mapping client business requirements to suitable solutions, with a focus on operational effectiveness and business value.
  • Able to listen to and address customer technical challenges and design the right solution that scales and integrates to their desired points with CompuNet Enterprise Architectural Framework approach and mindset
  • Relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff
  • Assist with bill of materials, statements of work, technical proposal components
  • Provide both the pre-sales designs and mentor post-sales implementations with engineering peers
  • Be an active champion and leader in the respected business unit
  • Be an active participant in the larger technology community partnering with and managing vendor relationships
  • Be involved in the new vendor selection process and peer with engineers to own that relationship
  • Be a subject matter expert within the respected business unit
  • Maintain existing certification partnership status working with the BDM’s & Innovation
  • Participate in all team functions including calls, meetings, events, etc.
  • Have tight communication with other Solutions Architects and Principal Engineers
  • 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Competitive salary
    • The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $200,000 per year.  Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including location and job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, experience, training, certifications, education, or performance. This position is eligible for variable compensation, such as commission, bonuses, and profit sharing, in addition to the base salary.
