Position: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Tampa, FL
The Senior Network Engineer Will:
- Manage and troubleshoot existing Palo Alto Prisma Cloud VPN infrastructure to ensure secure and reliable remote connectivity.
- Oversee and troubleshoot the Global MPLS WAN fabric, maintaining optimal performance and availability across all sites.
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot VeloCloud SD-WAN solution, ensuring seamless network connectivity and performance optimization.
- Maintain and enhance the security posture by managing Palo Alto firewall rules, including regular audits, updates, and compliance with security best practices.
- Create, update, and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation to ensure accuracy and ease of understanding.
- Collaborate with external vendors to coordinate projects, resolve issues, and implement network solutions.
- Perform installations, upgrades, and maintenance across our LANs & WANs
- Be responsible for the ongoing health, capacity, and security of our networks
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems
- Proactively collect, analyze, and report on network health and other statistics
- Research, evaluate, and recommend architectural improvements and new hardware platforms
- Ensure thorough availability and performance monitoring exists at all layers of the network
- Work with the team to develop and manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and review contracts
- Mentor and guide less experienced members of the team
- Understand ITIL concepts and how to apply them effectively in the enterprise
- Recognize the importance of and be able to generate excellent documentation and diagrams
- Have effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate a proven ability to learn and grow through self-study
- Assist in all PCI, SOCII, and ISO Certifications
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls, including rule management and security best practices.
- Proficiency with VeloCloud SD-WAN deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong background in Cisco routing and switching, with specific experience in DMVPN (Dynamic Multipoint VPN) environments.
- Experience with IPSEC VPN technologies, including configuration, and troubleshooting,
- Familiarity with SIP, and RTP protocols and experience troubleshooting VoIP-related issues across diverse network environments.
- Experience with LogicMonitor or similar network monitoring and alerting platforms.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services; Azure experience is considered a plus
- Experience scoping, configuring, installing, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ASR routers, Nexus & Catalyst switches, and Meraki access points
- Experience with network monitoring technologies: SNMP, LogicMonitor, Syslog, and NetFlow
- Thorough understanding of common protocols and services, including: TCP/IP, CDP, SMTP, HTTP, ICMP, SSH, LDAP, SNMP, mGRE, MPLS, BGP, EIGRP
- Extensive knowledge working with TCP/IPv4, DHCP and DNS.
- Experience using ServiceNow or other similar CMS / SKMS with an emphasis on CMDB
- Experience working in highly virtualized environments
- Exposure to IP telephony technology within an enterprise environment is a plus Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of enterprise network engineer experience, preferably in a customer facing environment with increasing responsibility
Requirements:
- Advanced level knowledge of Cisco Enterprise Campus design and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Cisco certifications including CCIE or CCNP is preferred
- Ambitious and goal-oriented person, with ample initiative.
