The Opportunity

A dynamic, high-growth private technology company headquartered in New York City seeks an exceptional Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board to lead the Finance function of the company. With operations across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, this is a rare opportunity for a seasoned finance executive to drive transformational impact at a pivotal moment in the company's journey.

The CFO will build and lead a world-class finance function, spearhead international financial operations, and position the company for continued organic growth, strategic acquisitions, and M&A. This role requires a commercially minded leader who combines deep technical finance expertise with strategic vision and operational rigor to thrive in a complex, fast-moving environment.

As we continue to scale across regions, we seek a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to partner with the CEO and leadership team to drive financial performance, governance, and sustainable value creation.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Leadership

  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO, Board of Directors and key members of the executive leadership team on all financial matters, capital allocation, and long-range planning.
  • Lead the development of a multi-year strategic plan, annual operating plan, and rolling forecasts that align financial resources with business priorities.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing global finance organization across FP&A, accounting, tax, treasury, legal, and IT.
  • Drive the company's financial narrative and act as the primary interface with lenders, investors, and external advisors.

International Operations & Multi-Currency Finance

  • Oversee consolidated financial reporting across 9 countries and multiple legal entities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
  • Manage foreign exchange exposure, international treasury operations, intercompany transfer pricing, and global tax strategy.
  • Partner with regional business leaders to drive financial performance and accountability across all international markets.
  • Lead finance integration efforts for future acquisitions and geographic expansions.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

  • Implement scalable, best-in-class financial systems, processes, and controls appropriate for a company of this scale and complexity.
  • Deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting; establish KPIs and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making at every level.
  • Partner with the Presidents of affiliated companies to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and efficient capital deployment.
  • Own the annual audit process and ensure the company maintains a robust internal control environment.

M&A

  • Lead all aspects of M&A due diligence, and financing transactions.
  • Manage banking relationships, debt covenant compliance, and capital structure optimization.
  • Evaluate and execute M&A opportunities including financial modeling, due diligence, deal structuring, and post-close integration.

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years as a CFO, SVP of Finance, or VP of Finance at a technology or high-growth SaaS company.
  • Demonstrated success managing finance operations in a multi-country, multi-currency environment, prior international P&L ownership a strong plus.
  • Expert-level command of US GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and financial reporting standards; familiarity with IFRS a plus.
  • Proven track record leading M&A processes end-to-end: deal sourcing, financial modeling, due diligence, and integration.
  • Experience building and scaling finance teams; proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top-tier talent.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • CPA designation required, with CFA designation a plus.

Location

This role is based at the company's headquarters in New York City. The position requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (estimated 10-15% travel).

 

Range: $300k - $350k
