Senior Security Operations Manager (JW Marriott Hotel)

The ParkX Senior Security Operations Manager for the JW Marriott Hotel in Reston, VA is responsible for overseeing the daily security operations of the hotel, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and property. The role involves leading and managing the security team, addressing security concerns, and implementing risk management strategies. The Senior Security Operations Manager will assist with financial planning, reporting, and policy development while supporting organizational goals through effective leadership and continuous improvement of security services. The position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills in a hospitality setting. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Security Operations Manager will provide leadership, direct management, and day-to-day oversight of the physical Security team, including Managers, Supervisors, and Officers
  • Ensure team members understand and promote corporate goals, core values, and departmental responsibilities detailed in the Company org chart and Employee Handbook
  • Manages the daily functions of the department to ensure protection of property assets, employees, guest, and property
  • Monitors all unusual activities within the property that would impair the well-being of guests and employees
  • Promptly address and resolve customer concerns in a first-class manner that is consistent with guidelines established by the ParkX Management Executive Team
  • Plans and coordinates security operations for specific events with the marketing department and Director of Security Services
  • Walk assigned properties daily and keep a running list of maintenance items
  • Resolves customer concerns that are escalated to his/her attention by the facility’s front-line associates
  • Maintains equipment through regular maintenance and preventative care
  • Manages scheduling, payroll, deployment, supervision, training, and discipline of Security Officers
  • Managing Security/loss prevention operations
  • Be available for weekend and after-hours work, particularly during events hosted by JW Marriott
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of security / law enforcement experience
  • Must be certified security officer by the state of Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC or obtain after being hired within 90 days
  • Minimum of at least 3-year experience in customer-service related field 
  • Valid driver's license without major violations
  • Flexibility to work after hours and weekends, as needed
  • Outgoing personality with ability to relate to diverse group of people and build/maintain strong relationships
  • CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
  • Must have the ability to forge and maintain relationships with police departments in local
  • Strong problem-solving, time management and communication skills
  • Must be highly credible and trustworthy, and operate with high degree of integrity
  • Must hold oneself and others accountable and strive for a high level of excellence
  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to fuel growth and innovation
  • Must be customer-focused and results-oriented
  • Must want to continuously learn and develop
  • Exceptional oral and written communication, active listening, and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with others in team setting 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment 
  • Self-directed and able to work independently, with minimal supervision
