We are currently looking to hire a remote Threat Assessment Manager to join our team embedded with our client in San Francisco, CA! This position requires working Pacific Standard Time.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Threat Assessment Manager will be responsible for comprehensive threat assessment management for client staff and operations, while contributing to and protecting client culture and business interests. This role is to provide behavioral threat assessments, case management, and other related security management services to address external threats to the client company.
The scope of the role pertains to threats to life safety to the company, employees, and partner community as directed by the client. Threat managers will perform these tasks via use of client-supplied equipment, network access, and information platforms. Threat Managers will perform these duties via the following:
- Application of subject matter expertise
- Adherence to prescribed program policies and procedures
- Coordination with the greater team of cross-functional program groups to provide immediate and collaborative incident management when needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain comprehensive threat research regionally.
- Identify, investigate, analyze, and manage global threats to executive staff and employees
- Produce actionable and concise threat analysis products in a timely manner to inform cross functional groups, executive staff protection and enterprise-wide security operations
- Work with and guide open-source intelligence analysts, utilizing law enforcement databases, social media platforms, and deep/dark web for known and potential threats capable of impacting executive staff, employees, or the business partner community.
- Manage Safety and Security team relationships with local law enforcement partners and other investigative, research, and intelligence groups and vendors.
- Work closely with client customer service team members on threats
- Maintain global situational awareness of potential and developing threats and prepare impact analyses
- Work complex security incidents with multiple stakeholders, including those without experience in the threat and intelligence fields.
- Lead regional cross-functional program syncs to educate and develop improved threat capabilities.
- Assist in program development with workflow creation, threat methodology research, and other planning products.
- Have a team focused approach to problem solving.
- Be comfortable communicating with everyone from senior executives to entry level employees.
- Have the ability to translate complex security issues in a way that your specific audience can consume and understand them.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5+ years experience in threat analysis, ideally behavioral threat assessment and threat management.
- Experience supporting a comprehensive threat management program and direct experience conducting investigations, intelligence collection and analysis, and case management.
- Extensive experience with utilizing open source research, criminal background information, and other online investigative techniques.
- Current member (or ability to become a member) of professional threat assessment organizations (i.e. Association of Threat Assessment Professionals).
- Ability to work some non-traditional hours (e.g. nights, weekends, or holidays) and respond to emergent or time sensitive situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, demonstrable during the interview process.
- Must be highly adaptable and flexible.
- Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
- Professional competency in Google suite of workspace applications and Macintosh OS.
- This position requires up to 10% travel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certified Threat Manager (CTM), or currently eligible to sit for the CTM exam per the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) standards.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (years of experience may be substituted).
- International experience/living abroad
- Regional expertise in Latin America, Asia, Europe, or Middle East
- Language skills

- Experience incident commander

San Francisco, California Pay Range
$100,000 - $115,000 USD
