We are currently looking to hire a Protective Intelligence Manager to join our team embedded with our client in Washington, DC! This position requires working a hybrid schedule from our client's Headquarters in Washington, DC.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly skilled and ethically grounded Protective Intelligence Manager to join our security and risk team. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of intelligence analysts to create a range of intelligence products and support investigations, including person-based external threats to executives, employees, and brand. The PI Manager also serves as the senior intelligence analyst, coaching and mentoring junior analysts as part of the client’s Global Intelligence group. The ideal candidate has experience in due diligence, intelligence analysis writing tradecraft and editing, and threat investigations. This is a hybrid position, and the successful candidate is expected to report to the client office two times per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop an expert understanding of the client’s business model and asset locations, ensuring that all intelligence and reporting is tailored to the client’s specific needs.
- Manage a dedicated team responsible for providing protective intelligence assessments to support executive protection operations and mitigate risks to executive leadership.
- Conduct due diligence investigations to person-based risks to executives, brand, and physical assets.
- Identify and train team on tools and technologies including open source, vendor tools, and social media.
- Implement established SOPs and training guidelines to ensure program's effectiveness and efficiencies.
- Maintain detailed metrics in client’s database and produce various data visualizations based on those metrics on a regular and ad hoc basis.
- Establish and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure the program’s impact and success and track metrics across program and team member output.
- Provide a customer-service oriented approach for the client and department, which may include availability to support incidents outside of normal working hours.
- Manage team’s workflow, scheduling, and coaching/mentoring to ensure a balanced distribution of workload and team member professional growth and development.
- Actively foster internal and external relationships across stakeholders to facilitate better information flow and understanding of the needs of the business including working with sector-specific information sharing groups, private-public partnerships, and company employees.
- Other administrative tasks as necessary.
KEY COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrable experience with managing threat assessment, investigations, due diligence, investigative analysis, financial intelligence, public records searches.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, demonstrable ability to write concise reports suitable for a corporate executive audience.
- OSINT experience conducting research and intelligence investigations utilizing various tools including social media.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of handling sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving skills, exceptionally organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Able to meet analytic deadlines and quick-thinking and during crisis events.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule as required to meet client needs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in public sector or corporate intelligence, national security, or law enforcement investigations or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred.)
- 2+ years of leadership/management experience.
- 4-5 years of analytical experience and in private or public investigations research with a demonstrated track record of steadily expanded responsibilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in government/public sector intelligence, corporate threat management, or corporate executive protection intelligence analysis environments
- Familiarity with insider threat programs and risk mitigation frameworks.
- Proven ability to understand and communicate the broader business implications of identified risks.

Washington, DC Pay Range
$115,000 - $120,000 USD
