We are currently looking to hire a Strategic Intelligence Manager to join our team, which is embedded with our client in Boston, MA! This position allows for hybrid work arrangements from our client's headquarters in Boston, MA.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a proactive and highly analytical Strategic/Geopolitical Intelligence Analyst to join our corporate security team. This role focuses on monitoring and assessing macro-level geopolitical, technological, and economic trends and their specific implications for the tech industry, business continuity, and enterprise risk. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned intelligence professional with a deep understanding of the Intelligence Cycle, source evaluation, and analytic writing tradecraft. The analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Protective Intelligence—to produce high-quality, succinct intelligence products for senior business stakeholders.
This is a hybrid position within the United States, the successful candidate will be located in the Boston, MA area. Occasional after-hours work may be required during crisis events or to support Protective Intelligence functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct proactive and thematic analysis of strategic risks, such as geopolitical instability, macroeconomic shifts, technology trends, and regulatory developments, directly relevant to the tech industry and company-specific equities.
- Identify emerging issues and propose analytic topics aligned with the evolving risk landscape.
- Draft clear, concise, and impactful written intelligence assessments tailored to executive and technical audiences, emphasizing business implications.
- Apply sophisticated open-source intelligence (OSINT) tradecraft, including surface and deep web collection and source validation, to produce forward-looking, actionable intelligence. Sophisticated understanding of using Open Source (including social media) to identify potential group threat actors or risks to the business
- Understand and implement all phases of the Intelligence Cycle: from requirements and collection management to analysis and dissemination.
- Deliver briefings to internal stakeholders, including executives, on high-priority developments and assessments.
- Collaborate with Protective Intelligence and Global Security teams to support event risk assessments and executive travel briefs with geopolitical or strategic context.
- Cross-train and occasionally support Protective Intelligence functions, including after-hours investigative needs during crisis or elevated threat periods.
- Research and draft routine and ad hoc executive travel and event risk assessments, often focused on international environments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Economy, Global Economics, National Security, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional intelligence analysis experience, preferably within the US Intelligence Community or a corporate intelligence team.
- Demonstrated experience producing formal strategic intelligence assessments and briefing senior stakeholders.
- Strong grasp of the Intelligence Cycle and collection management principles.
- Deep knowledge of global geopolitical, macroeconomic, and technological trends and their implications for corporate risk.
- Exceptional analytic writing skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into concise, audience-specific intelligence products.
- Strong OSINT capabilities, including experience with deep web research and source evaluation.
- High degree of initiative, independent judgment, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and briefing skills, including the ability to present complex analysis to senior non-technical audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of geopolitical risks as they relate to supply chain continuity, regulatory compliance, and business expansion in emerging markets.
- Prior Experience in the Intelligence Community or Think Tanks: Experience as an analyst within a US government intelligence, global policy think tank, with a focus on geopolitical, economic, or security trends. Tech sector focus desired.
- Corporate or Private Sector Intelligence Background: Familiarity with how geopolitical risks affect multinational companies, particularly in areas like market entry, regulatory exposure, supply chain continuity, and executive protection.
- Subject Matter Expertise in Global Risk Domains: Deep knowledge of regional and thematic issues that intersect with business risk.
- Formal Training in Analytic Tradecraft: Completion of structured training in intelligence writing, briefing, structured analytic techniques (SATs), or the Intelligence Cycle; experience tailoring products for executive stakeholders.
- Experience with Intelligence Tools and OSINT Platforms: Proficiency in using tools and geopolitical monitoring platforms. Experience conducting advanced OSINT including surface and deep web collection.
- Strong Editorial and Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex geopolitical developments into concise, decision-ready products; experience briefing C-suite or board-level audiences is highly desirable.
- Cross-functional Collaboration Experience: Demonstrated ability to work across teams (e.g., legal, compliance, security, government affairs) to assess and mitigate geopolitical risk.
- Protective Intelligence Familiarity (Optional but Valuable): Understanding of how strategic intelligence intersects with personal and physical security for executives and events; willingness to support or cross-train in protective intelligence roles.

Boston, Massachusetts Pay Range
$105,000 - $110,000 USD
