We are currently looking to hire a Travel Nanny to join our team embedded with our client in San Francisco, CA! This position requires working on-site at client locations and destinations. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a travel Nanny to provide nurturing, developmentally supportive care for children in a variety of domestic and international settings. This role requires maintaining consistent routines, ensuring safety, and fostering learning and creativity while traveling across time zones and environments. The Travel Nanny will coordinate closely with parents to align care with family needs, manage children’s belongings and schedules, and adapt seamlessly to dynamic circumstances. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and flexibility, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, diverse environments while supporting children’s well-being and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care and supervision for children while traveling.
  • Maintain consistent daily routines, including sleep schedules and mealtimes, to promote stability across time zones.
  • Design and implement age-appropriate activities that foster learning, creativity, and social development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children during flights, ground transportation, and in unfamiliar environments.
  • Organize, pack, and manage children’s personal items and travel essentials.
  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, and care plans in close communication with parents.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and availability to support family needs during irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Uphold the highest standards of discretion, professionalism, and adaptability in diverse and dynamic settings.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (infant, child, and adult).
  • Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Frequent travel, both domestic and international, often requires extended stays away from home.
  • Care is provided across diverse environments, including airplanes, vehicles, hotels, rental properties, and private residences.
  • Exposure to varying climates, time zones, and cultural settings.
  • Irregular work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on family travel schedules and needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver children and luggage (up to 50 lbs).
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching as required in childcare activities.
  • Stamina to remain active and attentive for extended periods, including during long travel days.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing time zones, irregular schedules, and varying sleep patterns.
  • Comfort with prolonged periods of standing, walking, and assisting children in transit (airports, sightseeing, etc.).
  • Dexterity to manage packing, organizing, and handling children’s belongings efficiently.
