JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Threat Assessment Manager owns the end-to-end oversight of threat assessment and case management that safeguards our on-platform users, hosts, guests, and community partners. Leveraging internal systems and data sources, you deliver sophisticated behavioral threat assessments, investigative support, and real-time intelligence to detect, evaluate, and mitigate external threats that could impact life safety, community trust, or platform integrity. You manage complex, high-stakes cases and coordinate rapid incident response with cross-functional partners, while also serving as the program’s strategic compass—making critical decisions when senior leaders are unavailable and ensuring that mitigation strategies align with organizational objectives and values.

Equally important, you foster a culture of excellence by mentoring Threat Assessment Managers and Behavioral Threat Assessment Investigators, transferring expertise, refining investigative methodologies, and elevating team performance. Your leadership balances hands-on investigative rigor with big-picture risk governance, positioning the platform to stay resilient, proactive, and people-first in an evolving threat landscape. Threat managers will perform these tasks using client-supplied equipment, network access, and information platforms. Threat Managers will perform these duties via the following:

  • Application of subject matter expertise
  • Adherence to prescribed program policies and procedures
  • Coordination with the greater team of cross-functional program groups to provide immediate and collaborative incident management when needed

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain regional threat research and intelligence to support proactive risk identification.
  • Identify, investigate, analyze, and manage threats to executive staff, employees, and the broader partner community as directed by the client.
  • Produce timely, concise, and actionable threat assessments and intelligence products for cross-functional stakeholders and security operations.
  • Conduct thorough open-source intelligence investigations—drawing on public and government databases, social media, and deep/dark-web sources—to identify and assess known or emerging threats that could affect platform users or the broader business community.
  • Maintain relationships and coordinate with local law enforcement and relevant investigative, intelligence, and vendor partners.
  • Partner closely with customer service and operational teams to support threat intake, response coordination, and case resolution.
  • Lead Threat Management Team meetings involving various stakeholders to coordinate response on immediate high level threat issues.
  • Maintain situational awareness of emerging or evolving threats and deliver impact assessments as needed.
  • Manage complex, time-sensitive security incidents involving multiple stakeholders, including non-security partners.
  • Lead regional cross-functional program syncs to strengthen threat awareness, response coordination, and capability development.
  • Contribute to program development through workflow design, threat methodology research, planning deliverables, and process improvement.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across audiences, from senior executives to frontline teams, translating complex security issues into practical guidance and decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and operational requirements, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
  • Mentor and develop Threat Assessment Managers and Behavioral Threat Assessment Investigators through knowledge transfer, skill-building initiatives, and investigative methodology refinement
  • Balance hands-on investigative excellence with strategic risk governance to ensure the program remains resilient, proactive, and aligned with organizational values
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by elevating team performance and positioning the platform to adapt effectively in an evolving threat landscape

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of law enforcement experience or equivalent public/civil service.
  • Experience supporting a comprehensive threat management program.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a comprehensive threat management program, including investigations, intelligence collection/analysis, and case management.
  • Advanced proficiency in open-source research and online investigative techniques, including the use of criminal background and related records where authorized.
  • Current member of (or ability to become a member of) professional threat assessment organizations (e.g., Association of Threat Assessment Professionals).
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays) and respond to emergent, time-sensitive incidents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, actionable assessments.
  • Strong adaptability and flexibility in dynamic operational environments.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and work cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Professionally proficient in Google Workspace applications and macOS, and experienced in leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Threat Manager (CTM), or eligibility to sit for the CTM exam under ATAP standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (experience may substitute).
  • International experience and/or regional expertise (Latin America, Asia, Europe).
  • Language proficiency and cross-cultural fluency.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, and trend tracking.
  • Experience drafting planning products and policy documentation.
  • Training and exercise design or facilitation experience.
  • Experience serving as an incident commander or leading multi-stakeholder incident response.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
