Role Overview
We're seeking a talented Senior Front-End Engineer to join our Design Systems team. In this role, you will play a key part in building and maintaining our component library and ensuring consistent implementation of our design language across our products built with a microfrontend architecture. You'll collaborate closely with designers and product engineers to empower teams to build high-quality, accessible, and consistent user experiences at scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain reusable UI components (e.g., atomic components, patterns) that form the foundation of our design system
- Collaborate with our Product Design team to transform design specifications into high-quality code
- Create and document coding standards and best practices for front-end development
- Work closely with product engineering teams to facilitate adoption and effective utilization of the design system across different applications
- Continuously improve component performance, accessibility, and user experience
- Contribute to the design system roadmap and strategic direction, influencing the evolution of our platform's visual and technical foundation.
- Identify and resolve bugs and inconsistencies in existing components
- Maintain thorough documentation
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development
- Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS (SASS/SCSS), and JavaScript
- Professional experience with React
- Proficiency with TypeScript
- Experience implementing and maintaining design systems or component libraries
- Understanding of CSS architecture
- Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Sketch
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and implementation techniques
Nice to Have
- Experience with design tokens and automated theme generation
- Familiarity with testing frameworks for UI components
- Knowledge of build tools and front-end development workflows (e.g., Webpack, Babel)
- Experience with design-to-code automation tools
- Familiarity with microfrontend architectures and design system implementation within such environments.
