Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Compensation and Benefits Manager (IC level III)  to oversee and continuously improve our organization's compensation structures and employee benefits programs. This role is critical to ensuring our total rewards offerings attract, retain, and motivate top talent while remaining compliant with legal standards and aligned with company objectives.  This position reports to the Head of People.

  • Compensation Responsibilities:

    • Maintain company-wide global salary structures and compensation programs.
    • Conduct job evaluations and develop job classifications to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
    • Benchmark compensation data using market surveys and analytics to guide pay decisions.
    • Lead the annual compensation planning process including merit increases, promotions, and bonuses.
    • Partner with CFO on Corporate Bonus Plan - documentation, and payout.
    • Partner with Revenue Operations to send out incentive plan documents for signature
    • Collaborate with leadership to integrate compensation with performance management processes for fair and transparent recognition of high performance.
    • Stay current on legislative changes and industry best practices to maintain compliance across all operating countries.
    • Advise managers and HR business partners on compensation recommendations related to new hires, promotions, and internal mobility.
    • Ensure compliance with compensation-related regulations including FLSA, pay equity, and other labor laws.
    • Provide compensation-related reporting and data analysis to HR leadership and finance.

    Benefits Administration Responsibilities:

    • Oversee and administer company benefit programs not limited to health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, basic life and AD&D, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and 401(k).
    • Manage vendor relationships and function as a liaison between carriers/vendors and employees addressing benefit issues, leaves, COBRA, termination and eligibility questions.
    • Partner with benefits broker and lead annual renewal negotiations to optimize plan design and costs in preparation for open enrollment.
    • Coordinate and lead the annual open enrollment process, including system updates, communications, and employee support.
    • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefit plans, including  nondiscrimination testing, ACA reporting, and annual Form 5500 filings.
    • Develop, implement, and promote wellness and employee assistance programs.
    • Manage leave of absence programs including FMLA, parental leave, short/long-term disability, and paid/unpaid time off.
    • Lead and ensure the accuracy of the annual 401(k) plan audit, coordinating with external auditors and internal stakeholders to meet compliance and reporting requirements.
    • Lead HRIS/HR systems management to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with privacy regulations.
    • Ensure alignment with company policies, procedures, and values in all HR practices.
    • Partner with Benefit Broker to conduct benefits education sessions and provide ongoing support to employees regarding plan offerings and changes.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or relevant certification a plus).
    • 5+ years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits
    • Strong understanding of international, federal, state, and local compensation and benefits regulations.
    • Experience with compensation benchmarking tools and survey data (e.g., Pave, Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson).
    • Experience in the administration of base and variable pay programs and benefit, 401(k) and leave programs is required.
    • General understanding of stock plans, regulations, and compliance requirements related to equity compensation
    • In-depth knowledge of benefits design, administration, and compliance
    • Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., Rippling, Bamboo HR, ADP)
    • Advanced skills in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
    • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and complex program implementations.
    • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
    • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a keen eye for accuracy and precision in managing intricate components of Total Rewards 
    • Highly collaborative, with a strong desire to support, enable, and coach others
    • High integrity with proven ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise stakeholders across all levels.

    Preferred Certifications:

    • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
    • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
    • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR

Compensation: Conductor maintains competitive, performance-based compensation programs. 

The NYC base salary range for this role is currently $90,000-$130,000 per year.  Placement within that range will be dependent on experience.
