Maintenance Technician

About the Position

Conduit Power is on a path to supplement our Nation’s power generation system with reliable and dispatchable generation in ways that reduces carbon footprint and accelerates the transition to clean, renewable energy.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to expand the company’s Field Operations Team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of power generation equipment in our field facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, hands-on experience with various power generation systems, and a commitment to ensuring the continuous and reliable operation of our infrastructure.  Specific knowledge and experience operating and maintaining MTU, Jenbacher, or CAT power generation equipment a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug changes, tuning and overheads on power generation equipment including natural gas reciprocating engines, transformers, reclosers, switchgear, batteries, natural gas regulators and PLC controllers
  • Complete Job Hazard Analysis and determine appropriate level of personal protective equipment (PPE) needed for the specific assigned task
  • Utilize hand and power tools, ladders and safety harnesses perform to work on multiple pieces of company owned or leased equipment
  • Utilize computer based or hard copy forms to maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, work performed and parts used
  • Review data and trending to troubleshoot and recommend solutions to equipment issues
  • Work independently on daily tasks while troubleshooting and resolving problems efficiently to maintain operational metrics
  • Assist with incident response and investigations as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures and complete all assigned trainings (including OEM training) on time. Maintains ethical behavior in all aspects of the business
  • Maintain necessary certifications to perform maintenance duties while mitigating safety and operational risk
  • Participate in on-call rotation to respond to incidents as necessary
  • Maintain all equipment and tools in an orderly and tidy manner
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Technical certification or degree in a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experiences as a Power Generation Field Service Technician, preferably in power generation or oil and gas industry. MTU, Jenbacher, or CAT and/or experience with portable of fixed power generators (> 2 MW) a plus
  • Ability to gain a strong working knowledge of various power generation technologies, such as gas turbines, diesel engines, and electrical generators
  • Willingness to work in exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, in addition to working at heights
  • Ability to work long and/or occasionally irregular hours and holidays to support power demand
  • Ability to work with a team and standalone for multiple hours
  • Clean driving record and a valid driver's license
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
