šŸ¢ The Company

This company is a technology-forward company built on the belief that every interaction, with our clients is a privilege and an opportunity to elevate the experience. We're getting unstuck from our past. Everything from our processes to our platforms are being leveled up to reflect a digitally confident and forward-thinking organization. This is also true of our People team.

✨ The Opportunity

We're building something interesting: a People function that operates at the intersection of Disney-level service, Chewy-level experience, modern technology, and genuine human care. We're looking for a People Operations Team Lead who will serve as the strategic anchor of our People Operations team. This person will be one of the go-to folks our leaders call before making decisions, the person our team members trust when things get challenging, and the person who makes a distributed team feel connected and valued.

This role is both a practitioner and a leader. You'll own Team Member Relations, payroll, benefits, policy and compliance, and the day-to-day leadership of a high-performing, tech-forward People Operations team. You'll also oversee the integration of an AI-supported help desk, ensuring every team member gets a fast, accurate, human-focused answer, regardless of time zone.

  • Oversee the AI-supported help desk, set quality standards and handle Tier 2 escalations
  • Drive the People team's technology and automation roadmap in partnership with the HR Technology Specialist

Team Member Relations & Compliance

  • Lead all Team Member Relations matters: investigations, PIPs, performance counseling, and separations with empathy, consistency, and legal rigor

  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve the employee handbook and People policy library
  • Administer FMLA, ADA, and state leave programs in partnership with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist

Strategic People Partnership

  • Translate business goals into people strategies: workforce planning, talent retention, organizational design
  • Facilitate leadership coaching conversations and develop manager effectiveness across the organization
  • Present monthly People Dashboard to the CEO and executive team: eNPS, attrition, pipeline health, comp equity

Culture, Engagement & Recognition

  • Own the culture and engagement strategy, from pulse surveys and annual engagement census to action planning with managers
  • Partner with the Internal Communications & Culture Coordinator to ensure culture programs feel alive on Workvivo
  • Develop and evolve recognition frameworks that reflect our values and make team members feel genuinely seen
  • Champion a remote-first culture where connection, belonging, and growth don't require being in the same room

Compensation & People Analytics

  • Oversee compensation benchmarking in partnership with a People Technology Specialist using Payfactors market data
  • Lead the annual and mid-year compensation review processes — ensuring equity, transparency, and competitiveness
  • Build and deliver people analytics narratives that translate HR data into business decisions

šŸŽÆ What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive People/HR experience, including 2+ years in a People BP, HRBP, or HR leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations end-to-end
  • Working knowledge of multi-state employment law, including FMLA, ADA, and FLSA
  • Experience presenting people strategy and People analytics to senior leaders and executives
  • Proficiency with UKG Ready or a comparable enterprise HRIS
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a remote People team
  • Advanced change management skills applicable to entire organizations
  • Experience building culture and engagement programs in a remote-first environment
  • Love for People data
  • Excitement for automation, technology, and being as efficient as possible while still delivering a human-focused experience
  • Experience with performance management platforms (Lattice, 15Five, or similar)

šŸ„‡ What Success Looks Like

  • By Day 30: You've met every team member and key leader. You've delivered a clear-eyed 'State of the People Operations Team' assessment to the CPO.
  • By Day 90: You're fully owning TMR cases, the People Dashboard is in front of the exec team monthly, and at least one experience improvement initiative is underway. The People Operations team is operating more effectively than before you arrived.
  • By Day 180: The annual benefits survey has been deployed, and the team is actively working on action plans with our brokers and finance partners. People processes are established and consistently followed, making our client’s experiences predictable. Every team member knows your name, and the executive team trusts your judgment.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
