Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a creative and strategic renewable energy marketing leader who’s excited by the challenge of building a brand from the ground up? At ConnectDER, we’re accelerating the transition to clean energy by reimagining how homes connect to the grid. Our truly disruptive technology makes it faster and safer to install solar, EV charging, and battery storage, bringing affordable renewable energy within reach for millions more  people.

We’re looking for a Director of Corporate Marketing to lead our brand and demand engine during a critical growth phase of our company.

**This is a primarily remote position with up to 25% travel expected for corporate events, trade shows and team meetings.**



Core Functions/Duties  

This is a senior role with full ownership over corporate marketing strategy, brand identity, and execution. You’ll build and scale the function, develop our brand, lead creative storytelling, develop and maintain KPIs, and drive measurable impact through integrated marketing campaigns.

You’ll:

  • Own and define our marketing strategy, with goals, budget, and priorities aligned with significant company growth targets
  • Quickly drive development of our brand voice and identity bringing it to life across digital platforms, content, events, and campaigns backed by success analytics
  • Lead the execution of digital campaigns, email marketing, SEO/SEM, social, and lead gen efforts
  • Manage and evolve our online presence from the corporate website to social media and partner channels
  • Create compelling content and collateral to support sales and business development, including case studies, thought leadership, and training materials
  • Run point on PR and co-branded external partners, including agencies, website developers, and event managers
  • Measure what matters with marketing analytics and reporting to the VP, Sales & Marketing and executive leadership team
  • Grow the team as needed, coaching and supporting two direct reports (Senior Digital Marketing Manager and Marketing & Events Coordinator)
  • Coordinate and represent ConnectDER at industry events, conferences, and thought leadership opportunities

Compensation range for this role begins at $130,000 + bonus + equity

WHO YOU ARE

  • A full-stack marketer—comfortable switching between strategy and execution, storytelling and spreadsheets as a brand leader in a continually changing industry
  • A creative leader who loves shaping narrative and building something from scratch to full blown adoption
  • A collaborative leader who works cross-functionally with Product, Business Development, Sales, Technical and People teams 
  • Excited by the idea of immediately making clean energy more accessible and scalable

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication or related field, preferred

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate or growth marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the US residential renewable energy space
  • Experience driving brand adoption in the residential clean energy space (DERs, solar, batteries, EV’s, Charging/EVSE’s) through the rapid opening of new geographic markets
  • Experience developing and executing brand, content, and performance marketing strategies specifically to solar and EV brand partners, OEMs, distributors, installers, and electrical contractors/electricians
  • Experience executing campaigns to aggregate demand and influence decision maker behavior.
  • Proven ability to manage marketing budgets, digital tools, and external partners
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with a portfolio of digital content
  • Experience with tools like Ohm Analytics, Hubspot, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics 
  • Demonstrable track record of success in fast-paced startup settings in a dynamic environment

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Figma, SEO tools and Gemini AI 
  • Familiarity with NetSuite & Hubspot
  • Past success growing marketing teams and mentoring talent
  • Past experience expanding into international markets specifically Canada and Puerto Rico

  • Strategic Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive messaging for internal and external audiences
  • Design Thinking & Creative Direction: A collaborative and iterative approach to problem-solving and campaign development, balancing creativity with user needs
  • Brand Strategy & Development: Proven ability to define, refine, and activate brand identity and messaging across all touchpoints including OEMs, distributors and installers
  • SEO & SEM: Practical expertise in search engine optimization and paid search strategy to drive organic growth and maximize lead generation
  • Event & Trade Show Management: Experience planning and executing impactful industry events, trade shows, and thought leadership opportunities that strengthen brand presence

US Salary Range

$130,000 - $160,000 USD
