About the Job

The Director, Sales acts as the top sales leader at Connected Cannabis and is responsible for overseeing and directing the sale of all the company’s products in all active markets through wholesale channels. This role reports directly to the SVP, Commercial. The role provides thought leadership in the commercial arena that is rooted in facts and data. The ideal candidate can translate strategy and data into actionable goals and increased revenue and market share in California, Arizona, Florida, and future expansion markets. This position is highly cross-functional, and proven success in collaboration at a senior and executive leadership level is critical.

What You Will Do

Example responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the sales organization including core sales and support functions
  • Directly manage sales and support leaders across multiple functional disciplines, channels, and markets to build and manage their teams
  • Design the strategy and execution plan of our route-to-market in each commercialized market to optimize outcomes for Connected Cannabis with our retail and wholesale partners in collaboration with SVP, Commercial
  • Own senior customer relationships with counterparties in our most important accounts
  • Own relationships with Connected’s commercial partners’ senior leadership in each market
  • Represent sales and trade perspectives cross-functionally, providing the organization with critical insights about our customers, markets, and competitors to inform strategic planning, forecasting / budgeting, and decision making
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the organization at leadership level
  • Define the sales plan for all commercialized markets, including any multi-state or national operators
  • Build commercial infrastructure in a manner that is built-to-scale as the organization grows in all facets (sales headcount, accounts served, states operated-in, etc.)
  • Eagerness to roll up sleeves, visit accounts, and work with all levels of the customers’ organization as well as our own
  • Regularly spend time in the field with team and customers
  • Build and execute best-in-class training and development program for each assigned organization
  • Build best-in-class SOPs to enable cross-functional efficiency
  • Implement the sales playbook and hold team accountable to Connected and Alien Labs standards of execution

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field highly preferred; MBA or Master’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic sales leadership capacity (director+)
  • Ability to effectively lead a geographically dispersed team in sales, marketing and commercial account activity
  • Highly collaborative with deep understanding of cross-functional needs and interdepartmental dependencies and trade-offs
  • Experienced people leader who has managed large teams at scale
  • Has built KPIs into the culture and the management cadence of a sales department
  • Has built the sales team, strategy, and process for companies in regulated CPG (preferred)
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to finish
  • Understands how to design and implement sales incentive programs

 

Compensation Description (annually): The salary range for this position in the selected city is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for variable compensation or additional incentives.
