About the Job

 The Connected Key Account Manager will provide sales leadership to their assigned region. The Key Account Manager will lead our key accounts by getting results alongside our local distributors. You'll focus on achieving goals and developing programs inside our key Connected and Alien Labs’ customers, establishing new business from targeted customers, and developing current buyer relationships. The Key Account Manager will help deliver company assigned metrics and help establish and improve buyer relationships at the dispensary level.

This position is responsible for the Southern California Coast and Orange County territory, from San Luis Obispo to Long Beach/Orange County along with the entirety of Orange County. It is a large geographical region with an expectation of heavy (~80%) travel on the road, with at least one overnight and two workdays per week spent on the northern coast.

What You Will Do

  • Manage and strengthen key relationships within a designated list of on premise accounts within your territory through a consultative and influential approach.
  • Track all activities and consistently submit activity reports in a proprietary reporting tool to supervisor including KPI progress, account visits, trainings, accomplishments, competitive activities, special projects.
  • Participate in overall market commercial planning which may include weekly and monthly team meetings.
  • Responsible for executing activities to drive sales, ongoing promotional activations and training dispensary staff on our portfolio of products.
  • Lead meetings with key on -premise accounts within the assigned area to develop strong working relationships. Present Connected/Alien Labs’  brands and work toward achieving increased volumes while building long term business opportunities.
  • Responsible for sales objectives, including basic account management, new distribution, and program development & execution.
  • Deliver year-over-year growth within account list while meeting monthly KPI’s within your account universe.
  • Be visible at key local events and participate where the opportunity fits our strategy, including the execution of national initiatives in the local market.
  • Actively participate in promotions and events, which often occur in the evenings or on weekends.
  • Stay informed of customer and consumer trends and develop programs to capitalize on such trends.
  • Provide market and competitive brand updates to Area Sales Manager to include timely and accurate communication of changing field conditions that may affect volumes as well as staffing changes at distributors and competitors.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • You will ideally have 2 -3 years of experience working in the Cannabis industry
  • You are a passionate and influential relationship manager that positions the consumer at the heart of all activities first in order to achieve results.
  • You are influential communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You will have opportunities to display excellent written and verbal communication skills while also being relaxed giving presentations in front of small groups of people including executives, employees, vendors and customers (both internal and external) at all levels of an organization.
  • By living a Founder’s mentality, you are well organized, an independent thinker, like to multitask and are confident in your ability to conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner consistent with our company values.
  • Your ability to analyze available information for the purposes of preparing reports, coordinating efforts and solving problems will also be required to be successful in this position.
  • Your ability to effectively manager your time and prioritize goals and opportunities.
  • You are computer proficient working in MS Office Products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite and can use advanced computer functions, including navigating the Internet.
  • On the road up to 80% of the time - including overnight trips to the Central coast up to two times a month

Compensation Description (annually): The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $120,000.00 - $142,000.00 annually. This position includes a quarterly sales bonus plan as well. 

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the total compensation package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role is eligible for variable compensation and/or additional incentives.
