What You'll Do:

 

The Director of Operations partners with cross-functional teams across the enterprise to drive strategic initiatives from inception through executive review, delivery, and will have ongoing oversight of operational centralized functions. This role leads and develops a team responsible for program execution, operational rigor, and stakeholder alignment, ensuring initiatives remain on scope, on schedule, and aligned with organizational priorities. 
 
The Director of Operations translates enterprise strategy into executable plans and oversees the governance, financial performance, and ongoing operations of centralized functions and key enterprise programs. Following program launch, this role maintains accountability for performance, adoption, and continuous improvement to ensure long-term value realization. 
  • Strategic and Operational Leadership:
    • Translate enterprise strategy into an executable portfolio and operating plan, providing ongoing oversight of centralized operational functions. Lead strategic planning, prioritization, and roadmap development across competing business needs to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. 
  • Program and Portfolio Governance:
    • Establish and maintain program and portfolio governance, including operating cadence, decision forums, KPI development, and executive reporting. Oversee ongoing operations, performance, and continuous improvement of centralized functions and enterprise programs following implementation. 
  • Executive Communication and Decision Support:
    • Develop executive-level communications, strategic narratives, and data-driven recommendations for senior leadership. Design and implement scalable operating models, processes, and execution standards to support enterprise initiatives. 
  • Benefits Realization and Continuous Improvement:
    • Oversee post-launch program ownership, including adoption, performance monitoring, KPI outcomes, and continuous improvement efforts. Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and operational workflows through standardization, centralization, and automation. 
  • Project and Program Management Excellence:
    • Develop and implement best practices, tools, and frameworks for project and program management. Lead organizational change management efforts, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and readiness planning. 
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of direct reports responsible for program execution and ongoing operational management of centralized services. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
  • Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect business operations and ensure program success. Partner cross-functionally with leaders to align operational activities with enterprise priorities and drive integrated solutions. 
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Up to 15% travel may be required for meetings, trainings, and occasional on-site support at organizational locations. 

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in operations, strategy, program/portfolio management, consulting, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, including leading managers and/or multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and proactively drive initiatives to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Trello, or MS Project)
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities 

It would be great if you had:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Healthcare Administration (MHA), or related field
  • Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Lean/Six Sigma, or Agile
