What You'll Do:

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing and delivering scalable, business-ready analytics solutions that enable operational leaders to make informed decisions. This role serves as a senior technical and consultative partner to stakeholders by translating business strategy, workflows, and performance questions into data models, semantic structures, dashboards, and reporting solutions.

Unlike a traditional reporting or analyst role, this position is centered on BI solution architecture, advanced dashboard development, data modeling, stakeholder consultation, and business translation. The Senior BI Developer is expected to lead complex development efforts, shape reporting design standards, and create durable, governed analytics products using modern BI tools and modeling practices.

The ideal candidate brings advanced expertise in Tableau and Power BI, strong experience with data modeling, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to move seamlessly from business conversation to technical execution.

  • BI Solution Development
  • Design, develop and maintain advanced business intelligence solutions in Tableau and Power BI for operational, clinical and executive stakeholders
  • Build scalable dashboards, scorecards, semantic reporting layers, and interactive analytics products that support decision-making across the organization 
  • Lead the end-to-end BI development lifecycle, including discovery, requirements definition, prototyping, testing, deployment and optimization.
  • Create reporting solutions that are durable, intuitive, high-performing, and aligned to business definitions and operational workflows  
  • Data Modeling and Solution Architecture
  • Design, maintain, and improve data models that support reliable, efficient, and scalable reporting.
  • Define business logic, KPI calculations, dimensions, hierarchies, and metric standards for enterprise reporting use cases
  • Partner with technical teams to structure source data for analytics usability, performance, and maintainability
  • Apply strong modeling principles to improve report accuracy, consistency, and end-user trust in data
  • Business Engagement and Requirements Translation
  • Partner directly with business leaders and stakeholders to understand processes, goals, challenges, and reporting needs. 
  • Facilitate discovery and requirements sessions to translate business questions into clear technical requirements and actionable development plans.
  • Advise stakeholders on reporting design, KPI selection, visualization strategy, and analytical feasability.
  • Present dashboard solutions, reporting approaches, findings, and recommendations clearly to the business audiences.
  • Development Standards and Quality
  • Establish and uphold development standards for BI assets, including documentation, testing, migration readiness, naming conventions, and visualization best practices
  • Ensure analytics products meet quality expectations for usability, accuracy, performance, and maintainability.
  • Review existing reporting solutions and redesign or refactor them when needed to improve structure, scalability, and business value.
  • Identify gaps in current reporting architecture and recommend improvements in tooling, model design, and development practices
  • Technical Leadership
  • Serve as a senior technical contributor on complex BI initiatives and high-visibility reporting efforts.
  • Provide guidance, peer review, and technical mentorship to analysts or other BI team members as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data, operational, and leadership teams to align analytics development with organizational priorities
  • Support adoption of modern BI and data practices that improve development speed, quality, and long-term scalability
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

This is a fully remote position.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, Health Informatics or a related field. 
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics development, data visualization development or related experience.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Tableau and Power BI
  • Demonstrated experience with data modeling, including development of scalable reporting structures, business logic, and semantic layers
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working in relational data environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and independently execute delivery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present effectively to business stakeholders

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, and/or dbt
  • Experience designing BI solutions in modern cloud or hybrid data environment.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, operations, multi-site service delivery, or other complex business environments.
  • Experience creating reporting standards, reusable design patterns, and scalable dashboard frameworks.
