Controller & Treasury Ops

New York, NY
Constrafor is rebuilding the financial infrastructure behind one of the largest industries on the planet and we're doing it fast! Construction moves trillions of dollars a year, yet it still runs on outdated processes, cash flow guesswork, and paperwork chaos. We're the SaaS and fintech platform fixing that, giving General Contractors and Subcontractors the tools to manage procurement and financial transactions the way modern companies actually operate. Backed by $30M+ in VC funding and scaling fast, we're not just building software, we're building the operating system for construction finance. If you want your work to have real, tangible impact on an industry that touches literally everything around you, this is that opportunity.

As Controller & Treasury Ops Manager at Constrafor, you'll sit at the center of how money actually moves through our business. You'll manage the daily mechanics of our Early Pay Program, funding customers through our invoice factoring product, reconciling transactions, and keeping our books accurate as we scale. Beyond the day to day, you'll partner closely with Product and Engineering to automate and streamline our payment operations, replacing manual processes with scalable systems as transaction volume grows. This is a hands on role for someone who wants precision and process to matter, in a company where the stakes and the pace are both real.

You'll work closely with Credit, Risk, and Finance leadership to make sure every dollar that moves through our facilities is accounted for, reconciled, and reported accurately, giving the company a rock solid financial foundation to grow on.

📝 What You'll Do:
  • Execute daily funding transactions for Constrafor's Early Pay Program (EPP), moving capital from credit facilities to fund customer invoices on our invoice factoring product.
  • Own treasury operations from start to finish, including cash positioning, funding schedules, and coordination with credit facility providers.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to identify manual payment and funding workflows and drive automation, improving speed, accuracy, and scalability as volume grows.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations across bank accounts, facility ledgers, and internal systems to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies quickly.
  • Maintain accurate records related to EPP transactions, including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger postings.
  • Support month end and year end close processes, including account reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Monitor facility covenants, borrowing base calculations, and funding availability to ensure compliance with credit agreements.
  • Partner with Risk and Credit teams to ensure funded transactions align with underwriting and approval requirements.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between internal records, bank statements, and facility reporting in a timely manner.
  • Help build and improve treasury and accounting processes, controls, and documentation as the company scales.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of company policies and procedures related to funding, disbursements, and cash controls.

📈 What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in treasury operations, accounting, or a related finance function; experience in fintech, factoring, or asset based lending is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, funding processes, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Working knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP) and experience with journal entries and month end close.
  • Experience or strong interest in working with Product and Engineering teams to build or improve automated financial workflows.
  • Highly detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Comfortable working with high transaction volumes and tight daily deadlines.
  • Proficiency with accounting and treasury tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) and strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with Credit, Risk, Product, Engineering, and Finance teams.
  • Experience working in a startup or high growth environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with sound judgment and a proactive approach to identifying issues.

💼 What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: $175,000-$190,000
  • Significant equity ownership within Constrafor.
  • Hybrid office schedule out of our beautiful Hudson Yards office.
  • Medical, dental & vision insurance coverage offered for you and your dependents.
  • Generous PTO Plan.
  • A collaborative and innovative work culture that values your input.
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing tech company.
