Design Center Assistant Manager

The Design Center Assistant Manager is a new role responsible for driving daily sales execution, pipeline rigor, and customer follow-through within the Design Center. This role blends hands-on selling with sales floor leadership to ensure consistent performance against revenue goals while maintaining premium showroom and CX standards. 

Partnering closely with the Design Center Manager, the Assistant Manager owns day-to-day activities, coaches the team to performance, and ensures disciplined execution across opportunities, quotes, projects, and follow-up. 

 

Sales & CX Leadership 

  • Own daily opportunity passing, ensuring completion, accuracy, and proper ownership 
  • Enforce follow-up completion standards at 24 hours, 48 hours, and 1 week 
  • Ensure quote and estimate accuracy and on-time completion to support conversion and project success 
  • Lead weekly project and pipeline reviews to maintain momentum, identify risks, and drive next steps 
  • Drive performance against all sales goals, including response times, lead flow, project goals, revenue, and cross-selling 
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and support formal improvement plans (PIPs) when needed 
  • Serve as training coordinator, reinforcing sales process, tools, and best practices through on-the-job coaching 
  • Maintain strong connectivity to the sales team, ensuring product participation in meetings and alignment across sales, CX, and project execution 

 

Client & Business Responsibilities 

  • Serve as a Master Design Coordinator, taking clients as needed and modeling best-in-class consultative selling 
  • Build relationships with designers, builders, and partners to drive traffic and new business 
  • Support showroom events, launches, and promotions as sales-driving opportunities 
  • Ensure the showroom consistently reflects brand, visual, and CX standards 

 

Operations & Standards 

  • Support inventory accuracy, ordering, receiving, and stocking as needed 
  • Assist with sales transactions, reporting, and administrative tasks 
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards 

 

Leadership Expectations 

  • Act as the sales floor leader in the absence of the Showroom Manager 
  • Support staffing coverage as needed to ensure consistent sales execution and CX 
  • Set clear expectations, drive accountability, and lead with a coaching mindset 

 

Success Measures 

  • Accurate, active, and well-managed opportunity pipeline 
  • Consistent follow-up and response-time compliance 
  • On-time, accurate quotes and estimates 
  • Achievement of sales, revenue, and cross-sell goals 
  • Strong project execution and conversion 
  • Visible, credible sales leadership on the showroom floor
