Role Summary
We are seeking a commercially driven Global Strategic Account Manager to own and grow high-value relationships across our most important hedge fund and institutional investment clients. Unlike a traditional “farmer,” this role is designed for a strategic seller.
You will be responsible for full revenue ownership across a defined portfolio, including renewals, expansions, cross-sells, and multi-stakeholder adoption. Success in this role requires high-touch client engagement, disciplined pipeline execution, and relentless focus on maximizing Net ARR growth within each account.
This role is based in the Tri-State area and is required to come into our Grand Central office two days per week.
Your main responsibilities
- Own a defined portfolio of strategic hedge fund and institutional accounts, including full renewal and expansion quota responsibility.
- Drive usage, adoption, and multi-team penetration across existing subscriptions; map white space and execute structured expansion plans.
- Identify and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities through consistent engagement with senior stakeholders across investment and data functions.
- Lead contract renewals and pricing negotiations, managing objections and competitive pressures effectively.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, renewal, and forecast tracking in Salesforce with disciplined cadence.
- Conduct regular on/offsite client meetings and executive updates, bringing in internal leadership and product experts when required.
- Relay client feedback to inform product, pricing, and commercial strategy.
- Partner across internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.
We're looking for someone with
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years' experience in prospective sales with a successful track record of exceeding sales targets.
- 3+ years focus on alternative data solutions for Financial Services clients (a must).
- Proficiency in the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure. Experience in Salesforce and Excel, along with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, is required.
- In-depth knowledge of alternative data solutions.
- An existing network and quality reputation amongst the US investment community.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building and nurturing relationships with clients, establishing trust and credibility with decision-makers.
- Effective negotiation skills for reaching beneficial agreements, with professional handling of objections and conflicts.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to identify client needs and tailor solutions, with creativity in overcoming sales challenges.
- High ethical standards and integrity in all dealings with clients and colleagues.
- Skilled in prospecting, passionate about understanding client needs, self-driven, and knowledgeable in SaaS and data-driven decision making.
