OVERVIEW

In People & Culture at CR, no two days are the same. Our People Partners move seamlessly from coaching a manager to helping a frontline employee resolve a workplace concern.  From helping to refine a job description; to analyzing data in our HRIS, teamwork is the special ingredient in our People & Culture recipe.

As Senior Manager, People & Culture you will report to the Director, Talent Management. This position is a strategic role, leading the People & Culture Partner function to drive people initiatives, foster a high-performance, equitable and inclusive workplace culture, support key stakeholders, and align HR strategies with CR’s business goals.

Under our CR Flex Policy, this is a hybrid position.  The successful candidate must be able to travel to our Yonkers, NY headquarters at least 2x per month and to our Colchester, CT office 1x per month.  This position is not eligible for sponsorship. 

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

The Senior Manager leads the efforts of the People & Culture team to build and sustain a high-performing, equitable and inclusive workplace at CR.   On a daily basis you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of People & Culture Partners to support business units in achieving strategic objectives, ensuring they have the tools and training necessary to do so
  • Partner with leadership to drive a culture of performance, engagement, and continuous development while providing HR guidance on workforce planning, organizational design and talent strategies
  • Provide guidance on complex HR matters, including performance management, leadership development, and employee relations
  • Serve as a full service P&C Partner for designated client groups
  • Under the direction of the Director, Talent Management, partners with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development teams to implement programs that attract, retain, and grow top talent
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in alignment with business and HR objectives
  • Oversee employee relations strategies, ensuring a fair and consistent approach to conflict resolution and policy enforcement
  • In consultation with the Director, Talent Management, develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, including engagement survey analysis and implementation of action plans; execute best practices to improve employee experience and retention
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are compliant with employment laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with People & Culture to deliver streamlined and effective P&C programs
  • Utilize P&C analytics and data-driven insights to measure effectiveness and impact of P&C initiatives

ABOUT YOU

You’ll Be Highly Rated If

  • You have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, human resources, human services, or in a related field.
  • You have related experience including: 8+ years in a people department across a variety of areas that may include employee relations, benefits, talent acquisition, learning & development, compliance, and operations, 2+ years as a people department manager with people management responsibilities, 5+ years conducting investigations, including collecting and analyzing relevant facts in light of legal and regulatory requirements, 5+ years experience providing advice and counsel to leaders on organizational design or significant organization restructures
  • You have knowledge of labor laws including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and NLRAExperience delivering human resources services in a union environment
  • You have knowledge of key principles of DEI within the People & Culture spaceYou are a strong communicator with excellent written, presentation and public speaking skills. 
  • You are data driven.  You have a strong data orientation and comfort making and defending data-driven, evidence-based decision
  • You have strong relationship building skills. You have the ability to build trust across cultural differences related to race, class, age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin and ability
  • You have high standards of integrity. You have the ability to maintain a high level of personal and business integrity and confidentiality and to exercise discretion in handling sensitive situations

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $160K-$175K. This posted range is reflective of the NY/CA market. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
