About the Opportunity

Contentful is seeking a Vice President of Mid‑Market Sales ($0-$1B in Revenue), North America, to lead our sales efforts across North America. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, leading other senior sales leaders, you will define and execute our go-to-market strategy for the mid‑market segment, drive predictable revenue growth, and scale a high-performing team. This role is contributing to Contentful’s annual recurring revenue (ARR) and is an important piece of our growth strategy.

What to Expect

  • Own the North America mid‑market sales strategy, driving ARR growth and market expansion in alignment with global objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a team of 3 Sales leaders and 18 Account Executives across multiple hubs.
  • Deliver predictable revenue by managing pipeline health, coverage ratios, and accurate forecasting.
  • Partner with Marketing, Business Development, Customer Success, Sales Operations, and Product to design and execute cohesive go-to-market motions.
  • Drive cross-sell and upsell opportunities by collaborating with ISV and SI partners to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Implement operational rigor with clear sales cadences, playbooks, and KPIs that ensure consistent performance.
  • Actively engage in strategic customer deals, modeling best-in-class sales execution.
  • Represent Contentful at industry events, executive forums, and with key customers and partners to strengthen our brand and expand our reach.

What you need to be successful

  • 10 + years of progressive SaaS sales leadership, with at least 6 years leading mid‑market sales teams in high-growth environments.
  • Proven success scaling sales organizations, contributing to ARR, with a track record of exceeding revenue targets.
  • Experience managing distributed teams and developing future leaders, including first line managers and account executives.
  • Deep expertise in pipeline management, forecasting, and operational discipline.
  • Strong cross functional collaboration skills, with the ability to align Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in critical deals.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in CRM tools and modern sales engagement platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence, capable of engaging C-level leaders internally and externally.
  • Willingness to travel across North America as required.
  • Experience in content management, digital experience platforms, or enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Background in building and refining scalable sales processes, playbooks, and onboarding programs.
  • Familiarity with leveraging ISV and SI partnerships to drive integrated customer solutions.

MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

Colorado Salary Statement: The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.

Colorado Salary Range: $400,000 - $475,000
[This position is eligible for equity awards, annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards in accordance with the terms of Contentful’s variable compensation plans.]
