Director of Production | New York City

We’re seeking a full-time, dedicated Director of Production to join our AV Team in New York City. The Director of Production will lead the strategic planning and seamless execution of live events from initial concept through final delivery ensuring technical excellence, creative innovation, and an outstanding client experience. The Director of Production will report directly to the Senior Director of AV. 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee all stages of live event production, including product launches, corporate communications, experiential activations, and multi-channel live shows.
  • Partner with creative teams to translate concepts into executable, impactful experiences that align with client objectives, budgets, and brand messaging.
  • Support onsite operations, integrating digital, lighting, sound, video, and content elements for flawless execution.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage vendors and suppliers, maintaining quality control, timeliness, and budget adherence.
  • Develop, manage, and track detailed production budgets, delivering financial accountability while maximizing client value.
  • Build, guide, and mentor cross-functional production teams, fostering collaboration, high standards, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for all production-related matters—presenting budgets, managing expectations, resolving challenges, and nurturing long-term relationships.
  • Uphold health, safety, and sustainability standards across all event activities.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and best practices to elevate production quality and efficiency.

What We Look For:

  • 8+ years of proven success delivering high-profile corporate events (e.g., product launches, press conferences, experiential activations, corporate social events).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical, logistical, and digital aspects of event production.
  • Expertise in advanced production techniques such as multi-camera live broadcasts, hybrid events, and streaming workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting tight deadlines in high-pressure environments.
  • Strong budget management and financial acumen, with experience overseeing complex production budgets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in building and leading diverse, high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with industries such as automotive, luxury goods, or technology is a strong plus.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as project needs require.

Base Salary:

Salary Min: $140,000 Salary Max: $150,000 

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
