We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Task Force Line Cook to support our culinary operations across multiple Convene locations in New York. This dynamic role requires frequent travel to assist with kitchen operations during high-volume periods, staff shortages, or new openings in New York. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various cooking techniques, able to quickly adapt to different kitchen environments, and maintain high standards of food quality and safety. Flexibility, reliability, and a team-first attitude are essential, as you will play a key role in ensuring consistency and excellence across our culinary teams.
This position works as part of a robust operations team and reports directly to the Task Force Executive Chef.
This full time role requires an early morning start and pays $25/hour with overtime eligibility.

What You’ll Do:
As a Taskforce Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving daily menu items to the clients in Convene locations. Cooks carry out all responsibilities while maintaining food handling, safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain full knowledge of menus, recipes, and other pertinent information that is necessary for the successful execution of event PEOs, as well as Convene’s Perfect Plates philosophy
- Effectively participate in our professionally run daily food service exemplifying excellence in portioning, cooking, timing, plate assembly, and communication
- Prepare, cook, and serve items, while adhering to the recipes and ensuring high quality and visual presentation of food
- Prepare and deliver catering orders that are placed for our meeting and event clients with precision and punctuality
- Assist other associates to ensure all kitchen duties are completed within the given time constraints
- Ensure all proper steps of service are followed in accordance with Convene standards
- Responsible for constant sanitation, organization and proper food handling
- Assist in on-boarding new culinary team member
- Assist in supporting the opening process when required
- Ensure that culinary SOPs are followed
- TaskForce Property Support - support vacancies whenever needed
What We Look For:
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen experience, depending upon the formal degree of training
- Extensive catering experience
- High volume, complex food service operations experience – highly desirable
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences are a plus
- Hands-on cooking experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
- Flexible and long hours are sometimes required; a rotating work schedule that may include nights and weekends
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- Ability to travel to other NYC Convene properties

Full Time Hourly Rate: $25.00/hour
This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
