We are looking for a Task Force General Manager to join our Operations team in New York City. The Task Force General Manager will report directly to the Area Director of Operations. 

What You’ll Do:

In conjunction with the Regional Leadership Team, the Task Force General Manager supports the General Manager team in operating properties within the New York Region in accordance with Convene’s vision, mission and values including our core principles. 

The Task Force General Manager is responsible for supporting properties in need of leadership support, training, onboarding, logistic support, standards auditing, etc. Additionally, the Task Force General Manager will support initiatives and projects promoting achievement of KPI targets, as well as new property openings. 

  • Comply with Convene standards and protocols to deliver premium hospitality experience
  • Effectively communicate via verbal and written correspondence with all level of employees and clients; exhibiting GRIT in all interactions 
  • Collaborate with the Center of Excellence team on new openings, drive various initiatives and program roll outs, conduct Quality Assurance Audits, and conduct local operational trainings 
  • Work dynamically & cross functionally throughout the organization to identify problem areas, create and execute strategic planning for the betterment of the operation while prioritizing and meeting deadlines 
  • Support General Managers to coach, mentor and develop all level of employees at New York locations
  • Act as property General Manager within the region when a role is temporarily vacant and execute on the following: 
    • Management and Team Leadership: Oversee and manage property teams, including full responsibility for hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, and performance reviews, ensuring all actions align with company standards.
    • Operational Oversight and Coordination: Coordinate and consult with all site-level management (Planning, Technology, Culinary, Workplace) to ensure the proper setup, execution, and smooth operation of all functions at the location(s).
    • Client and Sales Management: Develop client relationships to ensure successful events, and collaborate with Sales Managers to confirm the accuracy of sales records, proper event planning, upselling, detailing, and professional client communication.
    • Financial and Reporting Accountability: Work closely with executive departments (Sales, Revenue, Finance, and Corporate Operations) on monthly P&L reviews, forecasting, and annual budgeting. Additionally, ensure the accuracy of all payroll reports and proper employee compensation. Responsible for driving impactful financial and operational decisions that positively impact the monthly KPI results and present out through Monthly, Quarterly, and Year End Operational Reporting
    • Facility and Service Excellence: Maintain the cleanliness and physical state of all spaces, ensure all service equipment is working properly through coordination with facilities/vendors/building management, and ensure all encounters with guests and employees are handled in an attentive, friendly, and courteous manner.

What We Look For: 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospitality, including previous General Manager experience
  • Ability to lead, develop other team members
  • Ability to work effectively with clients
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time

Compensation:

Base Salary:

Salary Min: $110,000  Salary Max: $115,000

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
