The Back of House Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all food service department areas, utensils, and equipment in a sanitized and orderly condition. We need someone customer-focused, with strong attention to detail, as well as someone highly motivated and ready to work in a team. The Back of House Service Technician will report to the Executive Chef.

What You’ll Do:

  • Care and cleaning of kitchen equipment, dish room and pot washing areas
  • Operate and maintain dish room equipment according to sanitary standards
  • Clean up spills in the kitchen, dining area, his/her own work area immediately
  • Wash pots, pans, trays and other cooking and serving equipment
  • May wash and peel vegetables and fruits
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned
  • Maintain and refresh restrooms
  • Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or with the use of a hand truck
  • Remove trash, separate into designated containers, and maintain clean floors in the kitchen and dining area
  • Steam cleanse and/or scrub out trash and garbage cans
  • Complete shift work, as assigned, in a timely thorough manner in accordance with department standards
  • Inform chef and manager in a timely manner when supplies are low
  • Assist other functions as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures – follow HACCP standards
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within the work area
  • Handle and ensure that all deliveries are properly stored, according to both state and federal health regulations
  • Represent the company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions
  • Greet customers courteously
  • Relay relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors
  • Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner
  • Ensure customer satisfaction

What We Look For: 

  • Previous experience preferred
  • Flexible and long hours are sometimes required
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time

Full Time Hourly Rate: $21

This role is also eligible for Convene's annual incentive performance bonus plan.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
