Summary:
Seeking a skilled Snowflake Data Engineer to join their Office of Informatics and Analytics (OIA). The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions using the state's Snowflake data platform (SPARK) to support data repository and business intelligence initiatives. The Engineer will ensure data integrity, security, and performance, while working closely with cross-functional teams to onboard new data sources and develop efficient data pipelines.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize data solutions using the Snowflake platform (SPARK).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
- Develop system requirements and assist in onboarding new data sources into the SPARK platform.
- Develop ingestion processes, mapping, validation, and transformation of partner data.
- Ensure data quality and automate data pipelines for seamless system adoption.
- Troubleshoot data ingestion errors and optimize data processes.
- Support the development and execution of quality assurance protocols, including data integrity and security.
- Contribute to business intelligence design and implementation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent technical certifications and/or work experience.
- Significant experience in public health or health data analysis.
- 3+ years of direct experience in warehouse design, development, modeling, support, and operations utilizing Snowflake.
- 5+ years of experience in Structured Query Language (SQL) Server 2012 or later.
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies, such as Microsoft SSIS.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Development experience within a Cloud Platform (AWS).
- Proficiency in scripting languages, including Python and PowerShell.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Snowflake, SQL Management Studio (SSMS), and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- API development and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) experience.
- Working knowledge of database design and implementation.
- Experience in Healthcare Informatics.
