With over 100 inspired chefs from cities like NYC, LA, Austin, and more, our weekly subscription offers a wide range of hand-crafted meals to cater to various palates and dietary preferences.

By delivering over 1 million meals per month, we're also empowering working chefs, tripling their income, and supporting their growth. CookUnity believes in fueling stronger communities, partnering with Food Bank For New York City to combat food insecurity across all five boroughs.

About The Team:

Our B2B department, established at the beginning of 2024, is on the brink of significant growth. 

Our mission is clear: reach $448k/month by H1 2025 and provide a stellar customer experience with limited pain on our operations.

 

The Role: 

As a Senior Engineer at Cookunity, you will spearhead the design and delivery of complex projects, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and meet high quality standards. You'll lead technical implementation, manage project timelines, and conduct thorough code reviews. Your role involves driving agile planning processes, collaborating across teams to define project requirements, and proactively addressing potential technical challenges to maintain engineering excellence. Additionally, you will champion innovation, participate in operational excellence initiatives, and mentor engineers, enhancing the team's performance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position is pivotal in shaping the technical landscape, ensuring operational stability, and contributing to the overall success of our product and business.

Responsibilities:

  • Help integrate an existing technology that has served thousands of B2B customers with the existing Cookunity stack without disrupting the current flow.
  • Help shape the future of our B2B expansion and product by working directly with the Head of B2B.
  • Oversee projects from a full-stack environment, with challenges on the front-end primary, and the star engaging with backend, and mobile experience.
  • Ensure the quality of our products by contributing to our unit and integration tests.
  • Improve the maturity of our technical stack with engineering best practices.
  • Participate in and improve the code review process and help mentor other engineers.
  • Be hands-on and build a world-class customer experience and get the opportunity to create a product that is going to be used by thousands of people right away.
  • Contribute technically to projects by being a hands-on coder, removing roadblocks, and repairing technical issues.
  • Helping to have higher levels of uptime & supporting the on-call rotation that will help the business run 24/7.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • You have at least 5 years of experience as a Frontend Engineer, and you can engage with projects in ReactJS.
  • Tested and deployed mobile and web applications.
  • You understand how to interact with and build backend REST APIs, and GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience using SQL databases.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve systems.
  • Advanced level of English.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • You can engage with projects in Angular and BackboneJS.
  • You can understand CI/CD pipelines and maintain them.
  • You're proficient in relational database management.
  • You enjoy working in small teams in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring teams is highly valued.
