About the Role & Team: 

As part of the Casino Foundations/Casino Platform team at theScore, you will be working with a group of talented and friendly individuals. Our goal is to provide our users with the best experience when it comes to online Casino. The Casino team deals with integrating with third party providers, supporting our client developers with everything they need to be able to view and launch games. We take pride in delivering highly reliable and scalable solutions. We’re always looking for ways to not only improve our knowledge but also share knowledge throughout the company. 

About the Work:

As a key member of our Casino team, you will: 

• Work with our preferred technology stack, primarily Elixir/Phoenix, LiveView. 
• Develop, scale, and optimize GraphQL & RESTful APIs. 
• Support web and mobile clients as part of our backend service teams. 
• Communicate with a community of engineers and third-party vendors. 
• Participate in the design, architecture, and delivery of new features in a collaborative agile/scrum environment. 
• Take part in other duties as required. 

About You:

• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, and software design. 
• A passion for clean code architecture and software craftsmanship. 
• Proficiency with modern web framework and API development (Phoenix). 
• Consuming and integrating with third party APIs. 
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar. 
• A strong grasp of relational databases, including PostgreSQL. 
• An understanding of background job processing 
• Competency working in the terminal and with a code editor of your choice. 
• Experience with testing frameworks such as ExUnit, RSpec, Jest, pytest or equivalent. 
• Involvement with profiling tools. 
• Knowledge of caching strategies and tools.
• NICE TO HAVE: Exposure to Kafka, Kubernetes, building GraphQL APIs (Absinthe), functional programming, Domain Driven Development; a desire to contribute to open source software; experience working at startups
