Job Description:
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting all day-to-day operations of the dispensary. This includes but is not limited to sales, money counts and cash handling, inventory control, storage of Cannabis, overseeing the cleanliness and organization of the dispensary and signage in the dispensary. The AGM is responsible for working with the General Manager to provide an outstanding customer experience while working closely with dispensary personnel to meet revenue goals, lead, coach, train and develop the retail and ensure compliance with inventory, operations, and system protocols.
Core Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
Primary support for the General Manager.
Ability to handle all responsibilities to maintain operations when GM is absent or unavailable.
Work with team members to ensure all stored cannabis is accounted for, and the dispensary has adequate amounts for daily operations.
The Assistant General Manager will work with the GM, Shift Leads and Store Associates to ensure compliance with AZDHS regulations and statutes.
Assist in human resources responsibilities, scheduling, direction, and oversight of all dispensary operations (particularly the implementation of policies and procedures), inventory reconciliation, discipline, and money handling processes.
Lead and support all staff in performance management, including rewards and recognition programs.
The Assistant General Manager will work with the Shift Leads, Store Associates and General Manager to ensure that customers’ needs, and expectations are met through optimal product selection and top-notch customer service.

End of Month inventory audit on the last day of each month; responsibility is shared with the General Manager.
Qualifications and Education:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to pass a background check in order to obtain, and maintain, a Facility Agent card in accordance with Arizona State Department of Health Services requirements. Associate’s or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Outstanding leadership, organizational, interpersonal time management and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent time management abilities.
Knowledge of the Cannabis Industry.
Leadership experience, with the ability to make informed critical decisions, complete tasks ontime and problem solve.
Results oriented and self-starter.
Strong interest and desire to work with people and Cannabis.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Technologically advanced individual with working knowledge of cannabis POS (point of sale) systems.
Computer proficient; ability to easily learn new software.
Physical Requirements:
Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hands.
Frequently required physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
Frequently stooping, bending, and reaching.
Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
Must work in noisy and crowded environments.
Lift 25-50 pounds from the floor to a waist-high table when necessary.
Crouch & bend often.
Stand for short/ high periods of time.
Sit for short/ medium periods of time.
Walk for short/high periods of time.
Occasionally sit on the floor or at floor level.
Handle the responsibilities and routine stress often associated with this position.
Certifications or Training Requirements:
New Hire Orientation & Security Training – New Hire.
Reception & Patient Advocate Training- New Hire.
Cannabis Education course – New Hire.
Additional annual or ongoing training as assigned by management.
Maintain active Arizona Facility Agent Card – Biannual or as dictated by Arizona Department of Health Services.
