Hybrid in Nashville

Through enterprise-scale purchasing power, a curated supplier network, deep category expertise, and data-driven insights, we enable organizations to make more informed and strategic procurement decisions, accelerate savings, and drive stronger business performance. Today, more than 4,000 organizations rely on CoreTrust to simplify sourcing, reduce complexity, and unlock measurable value across critical spend categories.

We're looking for a driven, curious, and commercially minded Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our Private Equity Sales team. This is an opportunity to build your B2B sales career while learning how to engage business leaders, uncover opportunities, and create meaningful pipeline in a fast-paced, collaborative sales environment.

As a BDR, you'll be on the front end of the sales process. You'll research targeted accounts, identify key decision-makers, and use phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to start conversations and uncover opportunities. You'll engage leaders across functions including procurement, finance, and operations, qualify interest through early discovery, and partner closely with Account Executives to turn strong conversations into qualified sales opportunities. These responsibilities align with the core outbound, qualification, and AE-handoff responsibilities defined in the role.

We're looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of creating an opportunity where one doesn't already exist. You'll be successful here if you're comfortable picking up the phone, persistent enough to follow through, curious enough to ask good questions, and coachable enough to continually improve your approach.

Responsibilities

  • Own outbound prospecting across a defined group of target accounts, identifying relevant decision-makers and creating opportunities for engagement.
  • Execute consistent, high-volume outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, and other sales channels to generate qualified meetings and pipeline.
  • Research accounts and buyer personas to make outreach relevant, thoughtful, and tailored to the business.
  • Engage and qualify inbound and warm leads through initial discovery conversations, assessing fit, needs, and readiness before transitioning qualified opportunities to Account Executives.
  • Clearly communicate CoreTrust's value proposition and connect it to the priorities of prospective and current members.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives, Marketing, and subject matter experts to align on account strategy, messaging, and conversion.
  • Maintain accurate, timely CRM records, including outreach activity, discovery notes, prospect status, and next steps.
  • Take ownership of follow-up and consistently move promising conversations toward a clear next step.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–3+ years of professional experience preferred, ideally in sales development, business development, inside sales, or another B2B client-facing environment.
  • Experience working toward individual activity, pipeline, revenue, or other measurable performance goals; prior quota-carrying experience is a plus.
  • A demonstrated interest in building a career in B2B sales and a willingness to own high-volume outbound prospecting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with business decision-makers.
  • Curiosity and strong discovery instincts. You ask good questions, listen carefully, and use what you learn to determine the right next step.
  • Persistence and resilience. You're comfortable hearing "no," following up, and trying a different approach.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Coachability and learning agility, with the ability to incorporate feedback and continuously improve.
  • Experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or a similar CRM is preferred.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package
  • Free individual employee medical coverage
  • Company subsidized dental and vision coverage
  • Dollar for dollar 401(k) match up to 6% of your salary with immediate vesting
  • Company-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability coverage
  • Employee Assistance Program to support your wellbeing and mental health
  • $1500 annual stipend for undergraduate/graduate college courses; $500 annual stipend for continuing education courses/certifications
  • Free snacks and beverages on-site
  • Brand new, state-of-the-art, tech-enabled work environment in downtown Nashville
  • Flexible/hybrid work culture
