Description

We are looking for a senior engineering leader to help us grow and lead our engineering team building a platform for customers to launch their blockchain networks using the Cosmos Stack, either in the cloud or on-prem.

This person must have experience of working in the web3/blockchain/crypto industry.

The ideal candidate has exceptionally high standards for software velocity and quality, and they’re unafraid of driving teams to meet them. They lead by example; they love getting their hands dirty, shipping, and getting into the weeds of the software their teams are building. They don’t think of themselves as “complete” or “perfect”, so they’re constantly sourcing feedback to identify growth opportunities and inspiring others to do the same. Someone who is an “empire builder” won’t enjoy this job. If you want to lead and build a massive team to advance your career, go somewhere else. But if you take pride in how much you can accomplish with a small team, you’re in the right place.

Role

  1. Leading and mentoring a team of engineers building a blockchain orchestration platform and custom blockchain solutions. This includes hiring, performance management, career development, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  2. Defining and executing the technical roadmap for the platform, aligning with product strategy and business goals.
  3. Overseeing the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from design and architecture to implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  4. Ensuring the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of the blockchain platform and solutions.
  5. Collaborating closely with product management, sales, and other engineering teams to understand customer needs, translate them into technical requirements, and deliver high-quality solutions.
  6. Managing project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively to ensure on-time and within-scope delivery.
  7. Staying abreast of the latest developments in blockchain technology and distributed systems, and evaluating new technologies for potential adoption.
  8. Representing the team and its capabilities to internal and external stakeholders, including customers and partners.

Qualifications

  1. At least 6 years of engineering experience, including at least 3 years of engineering management experience. 8+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years of management experience preferred.
  2. Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  3. Experience managing managers.
  4. Strong technical background in platform technologies, including cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and blockchain technologies.
  5. Experience with agile development methodologies and tools.
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Experience in hiring, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent.
  8. A strong understanding of product development lifecycle and experience collaborating closely with product managers and other stakeholders.
  9. History of sustainably scaling engineering teams on a budget and timeline without compromising product quality or velocity.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
