LOCATION: Remote or New York, NY

OVERVIEW

As a Product Associate, you will support the strategy, development, and execution of COTA’s data products. In this role, you’ll work closely with our product managers, clinical experts, engineers, business development and analysts to ensure our real-world oncology data products meet market needs and customer expectations.
 
You’ll contribute to sales enablement, data product querying processes, requirements development, product validation, market research, and documentation across COTA’s rapidly growing suite of data products. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2–4 years of experience in product, data, healthcare, or life sciences looking to deepen their product acumen and analytical skill set.

WHAT WILL YOU GAIN

  • An opportunity to own, improve, and productize COTA’s data pull request process - a core function of COTA’s business.
  • Cross-functional exposure to every team that touches COTA’s data - medical, operations, business development, engineering, etc.
  • The opportunity to contribute to other projects at COTA, including but not limited to tokenization, data product delivery, internal automations, etc.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN YOUR FIRST YEAR AT COTA:

In thirty days, you will:

  • Collaborate with internal Business Development and Medical teams to define product specifications and run analytic queries that support customer needs and drive market adoption
  • Assist with product testing and validation to ensure delivery quality
  • Collaborate across product, clinical, engineering, analytics, and leadership teams

In three months, you will:

  • Run and manage tokenization activities to enhance data linkage and expand product value
  • Support delivery of product features and contribute to ad hoc analyses and product assessments
  • Translate customer and internal feedback into clear product requirements

In six months, you will:

  • Support competitive and market research to facilitate product discovery and prioritization
  • Develop and maintain external product collateral (e.g., data dictionaries, spec sheets)

In one year, you will:

  • Create & own product specifications and documentation for disease-specific, client-specific, and internal solutions

HOW YOU WILL IMPACT COTA

  • Contribute to new and existing initiatives across COTA’s real-world data product portfolio
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate internal product processes, improving efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the team
  • Own and optimize COTA’s data pull request process that supports the entire business from internal operations to new, external opportunities.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Business, Nursing, Public Health) or equivalent practical experience
  • 2–4 years of experience in product management, data analysis, healthcare technology, consulting, or life sciences
  • Proficiency in SQL is required; Python is a plus
  • Experience working in tools like JIRA, Confluence or product analytics platforms
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; able to structure ambiguous problems and analyze data to drive decisions
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Interest in oncology and improving patient care through real-world evidence
  • Ability to write clear, concise product requirements and prioritize features
  • Comfort conducting market assessments, customer interviews, or light analytics (Excel, SQL)
  • Demonstrated self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Embodies COTA’s core values: accountable, collaborative, inclusive, innovative, and fun

NICE TO HAVE

  • Understanding of oncology terms and clinical context
  • Experience working with real-world data
  • Experience bringing a project or product from concept to execution, including impact evaluation

Salary: $80K-$125K
