Job Summary
The Corporate Accountant works directly under the Assistant Controller. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain accurate accounting records for multiple corporate entities. The Corporate Accountant is responsible for processing AP, reconciling cash, monthly billback to property timely and accurately in accordance with the accounting policies and procedures.
The incumbent must be able to conduct themselves in a professional and friendly manner and be a proactive, self-starter with ability to work under minimal supervision and demonstrated history of taking initiative. The incumbent must have the ability to exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks in order to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, exhibit a high degree of flexibility, and to build strong relationships with other departments in order to accomplish tasks and achieve goals. This is a full-time position based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Hybrid – in office once per week
Corporate Accountant Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post invoices.
- Prepare and post corporate deposits.
- Process multiple monthly billback to properties.
- Perform weekly cash reconciliation report.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and payable monthly.
- Record corporate and personal expense reimbursement reports in system.
- Assist monthly reconciliation of capital raising and distributions.
- Record the monthly corporate expense accrual.
- Assist with 3rd party financial importing.
- Assist with daily journal entries processing and other accounting tasks.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation worksheets.
Additional Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to read, understand and analyze financial statements.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas and basic data functions
- Must be flexible and able to work under tight deadlines.
- Experienced in problem solving, and able to follow a methodical implementation process.
- Ability to exercise poise, tactfulness, diplomacy, and good interpersonal skills in order to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and able to work independently
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Minimum of one year’s experience in applied accounting.
- Yardi experience is preferred.
