Cotulla Education is seeking a Strategic Finance Lead to play a key role in financial planning, performance analysis, and investment support. This high-impact role will partner with senior finance and campus leadership to drive financial insights, guide resource allocation, and support strategic initiatives—including new campus development and acquisition opportunities. The ideal candidate brings a blend of analytical rigor, operational curiosity, and the ability to influence decision-making across a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Annual Planning & Forecasting
- Lead components of the annual budgeting process across campuses and central functions
- Maintain and enhance long-range financial planning models
- Budget Performance & Variance Analysis
- Track and analyze financial performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Identify key drivers of variances and support corrective actions
- Investment Decision Support
- Provide data-driven insights and modeling to support in-year investment decisions by campus and executive leadership
- Evaluate ROI for operational initiatives such as staffing, equipment, and program expansion
- Strategic & Growth Initiatives
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and modeling to support new campus launches and potential acquisitions
- Participate in diligence, integration, and strategic planning for growth projects
- Business Partnership & Influence
- Serve as a finance business partner to campus leaders and internal stakeholders
- Translate complex financial data into clear recommendations and presentations for decision-makers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 4–7 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting
- Strong financial modeling and Excel capabilities
- Experience analyzing operating performance and supporting resource allocation
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials for executive stakeholders
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
- Prior experience in education, multi-site operations, or workforce development is a plus
Schedule:
- Remote Full Time Role: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm EST. Some weekends and occasional travel will be required
What We Offer
The anticipated annual salary for this role is $125,000 - $175,000. However, actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, and geographic location. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
