IT Operations Manager

New York, New York, United States

Courier Health is on a mission to solve one of the biggest and most meaningful opportunities in healthcare: reinvent how people living with chronic and rare diseases are supported.

We are building the future of patient engagement for life sciences companies. Our software is leveraged by biopharma companies to support patients in their complex journey from diagnosis to initiating and remaining on therapy to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Come Build with Us

We're a NYC-based team that believes culture, craft, and customer obsession go hand in hand. We show up for each other the same way we show up for the people we serve. We're an office-first company that values in-person collaboration 4 days per week because we believe the best work happens when you can collaborate and brainstorm together in the same room. If that sounds like your kind of place, we think you'll love it here.

The Opportunity

Courier Health is at an inflection point. We exist to get patients living with chronic and rare diseases faster, better access to the therapies that change their lives. That work depends on a team that can move without friction and on data those patients trust us to protect and right now, no one owns the systems, devices, and security that make both possible. This role does.

This is our first dedicated IT hire: the person who will build and run IT end to end, from identity and device fleet to security, compliance, and the office itself. You'll set the roadmap, not inherit one.

For the right person, this is rare. You get a clean slate at a high-growth health tech company, the agency to design the function the way it should be built, and the kind of cross-company impact that's hard to find once an IT org already exists. The systems you stand up will shape how every Courier employee works for years.

What You'll Build

Systems and access that scale with the team. Administer the full SaaS portfolio - Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Notion, alongside identity through Okta or equivalent: SSO, MFA, role-based access, and automated workflows. Own onboarding and offboarding end to end, so day one feels seamless and the last day is airtight across HRIS, identity, and every app.

Hardware and a workplace that just work. Run MDM across a primarily Mac fleet (Jamf, Kandji, or Intune) and the full hardware lifecycle, from procurement and provisioning to asset tracking and retrieval. Keep office IT reliable - network, Wi-Fi, conference-room AV, printers - including standing up our upcoming office move from the ground up. You're also the face of support: clearing the ticket queue against SLAs and giving white-glove help to everyone, executives included.

Security and compliance that hold up under audit. Partner with our CTO to own endpoint protection, patching, and device compliance, then carry the IT side of SOC 2 and HIPAA -access reviews, audit evidence, vendor security reviews, and the customer security questionnaires that close deals. In healthtech, the data patients count on is only as safe as the controls behind it.

The IT function, built from scratch. Vendor relationships, renewals, negotiations, and the IT budget are yours to own. So is the toil - you'll automate it with scripting, APIs, and AI tooling wherever it helps. You'll set the roadmap, capacity, and priorities while writing the runbooks that keep IT repeatable as we scale.

What Makes You Successful

  • 5+ years in IT operations at a startup or high-growth tech company, including time as the primary owner of IT - you've been the person the whole company relied on, not one of many
  • Hands-on depth with identity (Okta or equivalent SSO/SCIM/MFA), MDM (Jamf, Kandji, or Intune), and corporate SaaS administration (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom)
  • A track record of owning onboarding/offboarding, device lifecycle, and endpoint security end to end
  • Experience supporting compliance in a regulated environment (SOC 2 and/or HIPAA) -access reviews, audit evidence, and working directly with auditors and security teams
  • Vendor management and budget ownership, with the judgment to negotiate well
  • A bias for automation (Python, n8n, APIs, or equivalent) and a service-first instinct that treats every ticket as someone's blocked day
  • Comfort with autonomy and ambiguity, and the maturity to set priorities for a function no one has run before
  • Bonus points if you bring: healthcare, health-tech, or other regulated-industry experience; real networking and conference-room AV depth; or HRIS integrations, IaC (Terraform), and compliance platforms (Vanta, Secureframe)

Benefits

  • 100% paid employee health benefit options (including medical, dental, and vision)
  • 401(k) with employer funded match
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Paid parental leave
  • Catered lunch on Fridays
  • Wellness stipend

Compensation

The annual salary range for the target level for this role is $140,000 – $175,000 + equity + benefits, including medical, dental, and vision. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, interview performance, and internal equity.
