Job Overview:

The People Business Partner for our EMEA region will develop, lead, and coordinate the people-related strategies to enable and drive business performance in partnership with the EMEA leadership team. This individual will partner closely with the People Centers of Excellence to develop and implement programs and policies in the areas of management development, career development, performance management, compensation and drive appropriate solutions in these areas. You must be able to collaborate and influence leaders at all levels through excellent communication skills and data driven analytical thinking. This role reports to the Senior Director  of Global Business Partners based in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a partnership with EMEA leaders and managers across the region to develop an understanding of their business, their goals and their challenges in order to drive organizational performance and improve and maintain the quality of team culture. 
  • In partnership with the People Team, supports the design, development and execution of critical People initiatives and work streams to include organisational design, employee engagement action planning, workforce planning, compensation initiatives and performance reviews.
  • Analyse people metrics and bring a data driven approach to influence leadership and proactively identify people trends that can optimize for both employee and business performance. 
  • Lead employee relations efforts within the EMEA region, serving as the primary contact for all regional HR concerns in partnership with the functional People Operations, Business Partner and Legal Teams. Resolve complex employee relations matters and address grievances effectively, ensuring a balance between employee satisfaction and managing business risk.
  • Coach senior leaders and managers to navigate the complexities of managing teams, topics to include understanding total rewards, managing career development and developing a high performance culture.
  • Be a champion of Coursera’s culture and values, consulting with senior  business leaders on strategic initiatives, working with cross-functional groups and the People team to solve complex organizational challenges, and be an integral part of the client’s leadership team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a Human Resources role, with recent experience as a People Business Partner in the EMEA region.Experience working in a fast-paced company where the business is constantly evolving and works comfortably within high levels of autonomy. 
  •  Experience of working on and supporting turnaround change management projects
  • Demonstrated experience of working collaboratively with other divisions  (People team COEs, cross-functional partners, Talent Acquisition, People Business Partner peers, etc.) to support a high performance culture.
  • Experience working with data from diverse sources and proactively turning data into insights to drive the business forward. 
  • Thorough knowledge of EMEA employment-related laws and regulations. Outstanding listening and communication skills and demonstrated ability to use feedback to learn, change and grow.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate exceptional business acumen, with a robust understanding of the company’s strategy and business. Leverages this knowledge to propose and implement strategic HR interventions.
  • Ability to influence, engage, and partner closely with appropriate business partners across all levels of the organization in planning, change management, and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through ambiguity and competing priorities using outstanding analytical, project management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective consulting skills, ability to coach and influence senior executive leaders, able to present practical solutions that are heard, understood and supported.
  • Familiar working in a global, matrixed organizational environment.  Able to build and manage relationships across the company.
